Q:I already have a plastic water line with a on off switch coming up through the floor. I bought a new fridge and when they delivered it they said they could not install it because of the plastic tube- they said I had to change it- I've been to home depot etc and have no clue how to do it because everything else seems to be for the actual installation of a brand new line whereas in this case I need to know how to change the existing line. Any answers??: You didn't say why it needs to be changed. If it takes a different size tubing, you will be running a new line. If the nut on the end of the tubing is not the correct one, you may be able to buy and install a new one. You would need to go to the parts section at HD. They have all types of connectors.

Where is the drain?: Based on your question, I would say you probably have water gathering on your passanger floor board. If it is the drain that is clogged, NO water will drip. So first, run the car with the ac on and see if the water pools under the car. You can usually trace the drain by following the flow of water. If I had to guess, I would say it is on the fire wall to the right about in the middle of were the passangers feet would sit (on the inside, drain plug on outside). If it is clogged, use a wet-dry vac and suck out the intrusion. You will know if it was clogged as the water will flow freely after some suction. If there is no clog, you may have a bad heater coil. Not too bad to replace, but should be done by a pro. Good luck!!

Q:i recently got started with oil paint, and some of my tubes are leaking quite a bit. i seal the cap well, and there are no holes or anything in the tubes. i read that putting the tubes under extreme heat or sunlight can cause them to leak, but i do neither of these things.how do you prevent/solve this?: Leaking okorder /... Both of these prevent the dreaded twist and crack that can open up a hole where paint can both leak and be exposed to air. Also treat the caps gently. Make certain to routinely clean off the paint that biulds up around the threads. Wipe this off as opposed to allowing it to dry forcing you to remove it with harsher methods like scraping or using a solvent. Be conscious of the way the cap feels when tightening it on the threads. Sense whether it has derailed or whether the threads are clogged. Paint can build up on the tube threads and/or the threads inside the cap. These caps are fragile and often strip or crack. If a cap gets stuck and the tube body begins to twist while attempting to unscrew the cap run the cap end under hot water until it loosens up. Avoid twisting the tube body. It will tear apart. It is a good idea to save the good caps of old used tubes when they are ready to be trashed. They are not all interchangeable but they might be and it is worth having some around. Replacement caps are not sold by themselves but if you catch a bad cap on a new tube you may have a replacement sent to you by the manufacturer if purchased directly. You could try asking for a complete tube of paint replacement from retailers. I have done both successfully.

Q:The dishwasher behind my bar at work has a leak. The pipe that's leaking is Parker Parflex PP 3/8 plastic tubing that connects into a metal nut and brings clean water in. The pipe has a leak exactly where it meets the nut, so in theory I could cut off the cracked portion and then re-seal it to the nut. Can I cut it with wire cutters? Should it be sanded after I cut it? Do I use a teflon sealant? Thanks for any help!: That should be a compression fitting. If it's a brass fitting then they are one time use. You can get a new brass fitting, cut the PP tube clean with a knife or a razor blade - be careful not to cut yourself please, then install the nut over the tube, slip the compression ring over the tube and if there's an insert that goes inside the PP, insert that. Then push the hose into the fitting and slide the nut and ring to the threaded portion of the fitting and tighten it. Be careful to tighten it enough to seal but not so tight you cut through the pipe again. It's likely the reason you have the leak in the first place is because someone overtightened it. OR you can simply buy a replacement hose. I'd prefer a wire braid shielded pipe. Stronger and made with a professional fitting on the end, one you don't have to mess with. My opinion, replacing the tube is the better idea. And they're not stupidly expensive either. Good luck with your project. '')
