- either your monitor supports vga, hdmi, or dvi. u will have to use either one of those. which ever kind of system you use if it goes hand in hand with the kind of input you have on your monitor you will be able to use it. for usage of component video or antenna on our monitor you are gonna need a tv tuner box. i watch direct tv on my monitor using one of these. you can get an ok one at about $60. the best ones are more expensive. only difference is resolution support. (better picture quality)

- Q: I am using an acer AL 1706 LCD monitor and am running it at its native resolution (1280 x 1024 @ 75 Hz). I have tried using both the standard microsoft plug and play monitor driver as well as the specific driver for this monitor (although it always says that it is for the al 1716 after I install it). I find that overall image clarity is great, but the text, expecially in web browsers tends to look slightly out of focus (I have tried using cleartype, standard smoothing, and no smoothing). This has been giving me some pretty bad eye strain after using the computer for 20 minutes or more. Does anybody have any ideas as to what the issue is and how to fix it?

- Q: I want to buy a new monitor to replace my CRT. My CRT supports 1600x1200 resolution. I do not want to buy an LCD that support 1680x1050. Overall there are fewer pixels with 1680x1050 than 1600x1200 and it does not support 1080p resolution.What are my options for an LCD monitor that supports 1920x1080?
- It depends on the size you are looking at. There aren't meny lcd's lower than 32 inches with full 1920x1080 p resolution capabilities. Also you can always turn to plasma's. Try searching for Olevia, Vizio these are brands that offer 1080p in bigger screen sizes I belive starting at 42 inches. Or look at Samsung, Sony and Sharp. Much more exspensive but offer full 1080p capbilities starting at 32 inches. Also why do you need full 1080p unless you plan on buying blu-ray or hd-dvd or have a 360 elite or ps3. Other wise there is no support for that resolution, hd cable and sat use 1080i while sports channels use 720p.
