- there are PLENTY! search symphonic metal, or melodic death metal, you'd be surprised. the sound is so intense and awesome too... here's a couple to get you started! Nightwish Dimmu Borgir Cradle of Filth Within Temptation (light metal) it's a great genre to listen to, even though some people can't seem to get past the 'harshness' of some of the vocals.

- power metal- sounds too fake sometimes with some bands(dragonforce for example) death metal- hm not much of any cons black metal- same as roxel . the satanic thing thrash metal- not many bands out there who claim to be thrash metal ARE thrash metal metalcore-pretty good but generic, i mean eventually the establish their won sound but almost every single metalcore band starts out sounding exactly like another one..and sometimes never changes doom metal- wtf? um what bands would be considered doom metal? deathcore- too stuck on the gothenburg sound (like at the gates). i like this genre but i think it'd be so much better if they broke away from the gothenburg sound stoner metal? groove metal? alternative metal- eh i dont listen to it enough to judge it nu metal- slipknot is the only nu metal band that should still eb around the others need to quit

- i noticed that a few ppl av mentioned that hardcore is jus a repetition of the same riffs and onli using two fingers to play them. in some cases this is mor than likely but e.g. bring me the horizon(dodgy vocals i kno) but listen to their riffs in their songs. they well technical. i have to go with hardcore its good to bounce along to and when the beatdowns start u jus cant help but nod ur head Oh and as for the dancing. tht jus adds to the entertainment

- Yes, I like alot of metal. My main genre is rock/alternative, but I like pretty much anything. My little brother got me listening to metal many years ago while driving to school. I allowed him 2 of 'his' songs to play while on the way, and it was 'Four Horsemen' by Metallica and 'Sweating Bullets' by Megadeth that got me into it. ;)
