Q: I can get a real good deal on an Acer 22 LCD monitor. I have a Samsung 19 which I am happy with, no bad pixels, good color etc. How happy are you with your Acer LCD monitor?
Get an old CRT (heavy tube monitor). They have better broad angle viewing, and better contrast gradient than modern flat panels. You could try using a large HDTV as a screen. Most of those have a fairly broad view angle. Best would be a video projector. Those have a very wide angle, depending upon the surface that is projected upon.
Q: I dont know much about computers so please help me. I just got a lcd monitor and i am planning to hook it up to my computer which is an e- machines computer. All i see on the back of the lcd monitor is a wire which is connected to the s-video port and the other side which is round headed, is hanging freely. I have searched for places on my cpu to connected the free head to but i can't find it. So if you have any other solution or if i am doing anything wrong PLEASE HELP ME. Thank you very much for your time.
You need a normal computer power cord then you plug the round plug into it.
Q: I think my monitor's Blacklight has hit the crapper. This is what happened. A couple months ago the Monitor's screen started flickering, then it stopped and was fine. The next day the computer screen started flickering again, but this time the screen went black.I turned off the monitor for a couple seconds and turned it back on. The screen stayed on for 1 second and then went black again. This happens after every time I turn it on and off. The picture and everything looks great when I put my face up to the screen, I can still see the pictures (etc)So, I think it's the Blacklight. Is this easy and cheap to fix ? Also I have not had the computer/Monitor that long. Not even a year. Why did this happen ? I think I still have a warranty, but I am just curious
Try this first Unplug your monitor from its power source (the wall, power strip, etc). Then unplug it from the back of your computer. Wait a few minutes, then plug it back in. Power up your computer to see if this solves your problem. It may be as simple as a loose connection, as this has happened to me. And this may sound out of the norm, but in the summer when all the electricity was being pulled from Com Ed, my flat panel monitor was flickering just like you say yours is. Or It is possible that your back light simply failed. This does happen for whatever reasons unknown. But check to see if your monitor may be under warranty. Usually a call to the warranty department will do the trick. They take hand at troubleshooting problems such as these everyday. Godspeed!
Q: hi, about 2 days ago my lcd monitor turned a light blueish color, i can still see everything but it's quite annoying, i tried fixing it yesterday and it worked fine at the night but when i shut it down and turned it on again today, it turned blue again. What can i do to fix this? i already checked for the pins and none seem to be bent or broken.
It has to be a connection problem. Check to see that the cable is connected directly into your computer and not loose in anyway. It could also be a connection problem from the cable to the back of your monitor. If possible, try a different vga/dvi cable. If that doesnt solve the problem, the problem could lie in your monitor.
Q: im buying a lcd monitor so that i can bring it over to peoples house when i want to play xbox 360. on my lcd monitor i got right now it feels hollow kinda but heavy.
Freestanding LCD monitors are not intended to be moved around a lot - it is OK moving them on their brackets occasionally t adjust the angle, but they are not intended to be portable devices. You may be OK, but with the cost of such a monitor I would not chance it myself. Bear in mind that as they are nor intended to be porotable should you have a problem you may find the supplier refuses to help.
Q: How do I connect my PS3 to my PC? Also, if I buy a new LCD/LED monitor that supports nVidia 3D vision, is it possible for me to play PS3 games in 3D vision too? Will it be worth it?Do you think it's better if I buy a new TV instead?
In my experience playing PS3 games on my own and with friends, HDTV is better for a smaller screen around 24+ and lcd/led are better for much larger screens (like family room 40+). Although just take this as an opinion as I'm young and have know technical knowledge.
Q: Is there any battery in the computer LCD?
There is no battery in the computer lcd.The display's parameter settings are saved in a flash memory chip. The display also has a power board, a high voltage drive plate. (mostly power high voltage integrated board)Each function of the display driver board is introduced. The display parameters are stored in the VCU flash memory chip.
Q: Hi,I am about to buy during the course of this year a Playstation 3 and I already own a Xbox 360.I have my Xbox 360 connected to my lcd monitor through the Xbox 360 VGA adapter. I want to do the same when I get the PS3 later this year at some point.Id like the option to have a splitter if there is one, where if I want to play one of the consoles, I could have the other one off and have that one toggeled off so then I can play the PS3 on my monitor without having to have to different vga cords.I also forgot to add that I have my xbox 360 running through my amplifier and I'd need my ps3 to be doing the same.I also was wonderingHow do I connect my Ipod touch to my amplifier since it is not an actual hard drive with disk mode, my Xbox 360 will not recognize it, unlike the regular ipod, mp3, and zune models.Well thanks for all the help. :-)
Well depending on how old your monitor is there should also be a DVI-I(don't know if you already use it or not) as well as a VGA connector on the back(use the monitor menu to switch between connections or there will be a button on the front that says source). In that case all you need is a DVI-I to HDMI adapter and run the ps3 via HDMI(of course there will be no audio) and there should be an adapter for the ps3 to output audio via RCA jacks for older systems. If your monitor doesn't have another connection then you may have to get an adapter for the ps3 (don't know if ps3 has a VGA cable available) they have adapters to connect consoles from RCA to VGA. You'll also need a KVM switch if you need to connect two VGA sources. As for the audio you can buy splitters at your local audio shop. Good luck and sorry for the lengthy answer.
Q: I have a cheap LCD Monitor. The resolution of my LCD monitor is 1440 x 900, if i am going to buy an expensive LCD monitor that has the screen resolution of 1920 x 1080, would i see a big difference when it comes to gaming?
It really depends on the physical size of the monitor. If you are looking at average computer screen sizes and not looking to get a larger screen than what you have, you won't really notice much difference in terms of picture quality. LCD monitors produce their best picture at their max (native) resolution. If you played a game at 800x600 for instance, the game would look better on the 1440x900 monitor than the 1920x1080 monitor because the picture isn't being stretched as much. Also if your hardware is not good enough for gaming at 1920x1080 (as a higher resolutions put more load on hardware), then you'll experience poorer game performance. To give a decent indication of your computer playing games at a higher resolution, Google (the make and model of your graphics card) 1920x1080 and name of game benchmark Example: ATI Raedon HD 5750 1920x1080 Far Cry 2 benchmark This will link you to Hardware sites, and these have tables to compare different cards on the market to the one you have. Anything over 30 fps is playable. 60 fps or higher is a perfect game performance and silky smooth. Anything under 30 in my opinion is completly unplayable, with the exception of Crysis.
Q: I am looking into getting a new LCD monitor so I can take advantage of my 256mb video card with a DVI output. I am wondering if anybody has some good input on which brand and model to get , I like the samsung T220 with it's 20000:1 contrast ratio . Thanks for you input.
Stick to samsung or lg, good prices, good screens, and most have hdmi 1080p build in, so take your pick. :)
