- Q: I'm always hungry when I get home from schoolInstead of eating chips cookies, I want to learn how to make some healthy afternoon snacks that aren't too full before dinnerAny ideas? Thanks!
- my favorite snack is tacoeasy to make! of course you have to precook the meat and store it it the fridgethen you can heat it up when you want to make your tacoput the meat on your taco shell then you can add tomato sauce, tomato, onions, lettuce, and cheese!!! or any toppings you would like to addtry it! ^_^ or if you want, try cereals for your afternoon snackto create a twist to your regular cereal, instead of putting just milk, why not use yogurt and ice blended togetherthen add some toppings like sliced fruits, tiny bits of brownies or maybe candies? be creative and have fun making your snack! yummy!
- Q: I need to make a hanging mobile(kinetic sculpture) for physics class that demonstrates torgueInstead of abstact shapes I'd like to use birds :) I need some way to make theseThere are a lot of materials available, styrofoam, types of wood of various thicknesses, I could get feathers, there is a jigsaw available for cutting as well as razorbladesI can get paint and a few other materials as wellI'd like the bird to be 3 dimensional, 2 sitting and 5 flying ones(Gotta figure out how to make outstretched wings)I believe there is cardstock as well.I was THINKING carving styrofoam for the body and head of the bird and using cardstock or thin wood for the tail and wing feathers and then painting themI have never worked with stryofoam though so I am not sure if it is difficult.Someone also suggested origami but I'd prefer to keep it a bit more realistic looking.
- I am not sure how a mobile demonstrates torque unless you are going to use monofilament that is fairly thick so that it winds up some then unwindsThey are usually used for balance and if the thread is not thick, it will take a very long time to settle down Styrofoam can be very frustrating to carve or shape: the bead kind looses beads and both kinds put off a lot of dustIt is usually shaped with a hot wire that carves its way through and seals the surfaceEspecially if you are trying for smaller than a 4 body length, it will be very fragile and break in your hands Paper mache or plastic clay might be choicesWings might be aluminum foil or aluminum sheet from soda cans or index card stock.
- Q: So i am doing a lab where my materials are ashoe boxblack paperalluminum foilplastic wrapIm supposed to fit a graduated cylinder in the shoe box with water inside itThere will be a lamp warming up the water and i have to use the above materials to help it heat up the waterAny ideas?Remember u cant wrap anything around the graduated cylinder?
- for actors playing godsthat's where the phrase deus ex machina comes from - god in a machine.
- Q: Conspiracy web sites and Internet radio shows say that the swine flu vaccine contains mercury, aluminium, formaldehyde, antifreeze, aspartamine, MSG, monkey kidney and lung cells and human and bovine fetal tissueWhy would a vaccine need artificial sweetener aspartamine? I am not going to inject any of those ingredients into my body.
- That is all rubbishThey don't have a clue, what do they know? If all of the conspiracy theorists are right then no one would get the vaccineMost people know there are theories about the evilness of the vaccine, yet most still get itWho and why really wants to inject people with the cocktail of substances you listed? And don't you think the side effects from those chemicals would be very apparent? Some people think it has a tracking chip so the government will know our every move People have answers for everything but the groups with mass hysteria and absolute paranoia don't normally provide the best answersJust because someone says something does not make it true.
- Q: Describe the proper method for storing food leftovers using aluminum foil.
-
The best way to store leftovers in aluminum foil involves several steps. First, let the food cool down to room temperature to avoid condensation. Then, wrap the leftovers tightly with aluminum foil, ensuring there are no gaps to prevent air exposure which can cause spoilage. Seal the foil well, and if possible, place the wrapped food in an airtight container for added protection. Store the leftovers in the refrigerator within two hours of wrapping. Aluminum foil is good for short-term storage, but for longer periods, consider transferring the food to a more durable container. Always check the food for signs of spoilage before consuming.

- Q: This recipe is very hard to find and if any of you have grandparents who know it, please let me know.
- Sickening is a better wordIt's like people don't listen to Romney talk! The things he says!
- Q: how many valence electrons will an atom of aluminium contain?
- Aluminum is in the 3rd period, so it has 3 energy levels for the electronsThe first energy level can contain up to 2 electronsAluminum has an atomic number of 13, so it has 13 electrons13 - 2 11the second energy level can contain 8 electrons, so 11 - 8 3Therefore, in the third energy level (the outermost/valence energy level), there are 3 electronsAlso, Aluminum is in the 3rd group/family, so it has 3 electrons.
- Q: It's so annoying to try and find something gluten, dairy, and egg free in between classesI usually end up driving ten miles home to make myself something! It seems logical that restaurants can't usually be trusted to be gluten free, and the commons don't have much of a selection.I'm thinking something easy like a phj, but I hate most gluten free breadAny ideas? Thanks.
- I've heard of something similar but I'm not sureIf it's a nice piece of silver that you have I would not risk it, I use silver cloth to polish it every once in a while and that works great it comes up shiny and new I have Tiffany bracelet that I love so i don't think I would want to mess with it by trying to clean in from some remedy I got off the Internet, unless you don't mind taking the risk.
- Q: not sure if i should purchase this new home; sewer in backyard, and totally finished in aluminum.hope someone can help
- What an odd combination of finishing – building materialsIs the “brick” the normal 3 x 6 (approximately) red building brick? Or is what you are calling brick actually concrete blocks? I could understand the previous owner wanting to do something to cover-up concrete blocks, they’re structurally good for building but pretty much butt ugly unless the house design can support the concrete block lookCan’t imagine why anyone would want to cover up the “normal” red brick facing on a house, they are generally done very well and add immeasurable charm to the structure The only reason maybe the house was sheathed in siding is the brick underneath is in such bad shape they chose “cheap fix” and just covered over the mess? In case this is the issue, I would get a good trustworthy knowledgeable person to look underneath the “skin”, determine if there are real structural problems with the brick! Then make an offer on the house The only “benefit” to siding would be if insulation was added between the brick and the sidingThe added insulation factor is dependent on how thick the insulation is, and how sealed the insulation actually isInsulation with a bunch of air holes, or done poorly is no added benefit, and will only give vermin a place to live If the siding is simply “cosmetic” I would seriously consider taking off the siding, brick is much more classy and adds allot to the look and value of a homeThe other thing I would do is wander around the block-find people who have lived there for several years and ask them what the house looked like before the siding and why the siding was put on in the first place !! CHECK WITH THE NEIGHBORS!! hope this helps
