Unsaturated Polyester Resin (UPR), is a type of synthetic resin characterized by its repeating ester bonds and unsaturated double bonds in its molecular backbone. Because of the strong oxidation resistance of the chlorinated resin, the resin is treated with brine before it is oxidized and changed into chlorine, which can avoid the change of pH value in the treatment process and make the oxidation more stable.
- Q: i need these things to build a rocket launcher for my school GCSE as i built one from plastic piping and it got to 20 psi and then exploded so i need metal piping but i don't have the tools to start soldering the pipes and pipe connectors together. - The bold aromatic smell is not in the resins, it's in the needles. Get a bunch of needles and crush them up and you will get that smell. Tree's give it off just being trees, but unless you can bring trees into your house it takes a LOT of needles unless you crush them up. As far as getting the essence from the needles and separating it, that should be possible. Unless they do those car trees with artificial pine smell and pine sol is fake pine.

- If you use a glue to attach the stone after the resin has cured, try using a 2-part epoxy glue since it's the same basic stuff. You might also just use a bit of 2-part epoxy resin as glue to attach the stone to the cured molded resin just apply a bit of it to the back of the stone, apply to the cured resin, then let the new resin cure. You used the term embed though rather than just putting the stone on top of the resin, so the only thing I can think of would be to use a mold which created a recess on the top of the cast, then put the stone into the recess after curing and add a bit more resin around it. Or you could grind out a depression in the cured resin instead. Or you could perhaps apply the resin on top of the cured resin in a large enough pool that it would come up around the edges of the stone when the stone was pressed onto it, creating a kind of embedding. Or, especially if the original cast resin isn't flat, you could create a well on top of the cured resin with non-drying kids' modeling clay, then pour the new resin around and under the stone inside that well (remove clay after curing). - should work. Did you mix the two components of the resin properly? Usually if resin doesn't set either it's been mixed wrong or the resin is old. I do think resins don't set if there is sulfur around, but I don't think that's a problem with polymer clay but can be a problem with oil based clays (plasticine).
