The circuit board power terminals are on the far left (right:positive) the speaker terminals are on the far right mid board (bottom:positive) He wired the the speaker wires to the PNP transistor and then later added NPN transistor (i was at radio shack and thought about buying a bigger one but the guy said stick with his exact layout until I get the hang of things) I don't know where to put the transistors and have no idea about the switches but I'm assuming one goes from the speakers output to the first transistor: Take the speaker off and connect the contacts to a relay that leads to circuit containing a larger power bank seeing that most kitchen timers now run on one AAA battery. Without the grid connection, you need a huge and very expensive, bank of batteries, hundreds of them. You have to have the capacity to handle days (or weeks) when the wind is not blowing. If you have a grid connection, you can sell power to the power company and buy from them when there is no wind, you buy from them. If you have enough capacity, you have a net gain, and are using the power company as a storage facility. Go through the numbers. If your power consumption averages 1.2 kW, the US national average, for one day capacity, you need 1.2 kW x 24 hours 30 kW-hours. That costs US$3 from the power company. But for batteries, you would need 30 large lead acid deep discharge lead acid batteries, at about $300 each, total $10k. For many days, multiply that up. Four days, that is $40k worth of batteries. Bottom line, you need to know your average power consumption. And you need how many hours a week you get wind in the range the wind turbine can handle. For example, if the turbine is turning average 6 hours a day, and your average usage is 1.2 kW, then you need a capacity of 4 x 1.2 kW 5 kW. Plus extra for losses in batteries and inverters, probably 7 kW overall.

Q: I have a 24V 165W BP Solar Panel. I plan on using eight 12V 35 amp hour sealed golf cart batteries in parallel for my battery bank. I plan on purchasing a charge controller and an inverter for my system, but I am not sure which charge controller and inverter to purchase. Will any 12V charge controller work? Do charge controllers take higher voltages, 24V in this case, and step it down for the battery bank? My primary concern is whether 24V is too much voltage to go into a 12V battery bank. If you guys have any suggestions for affordable efficient charge controllers and inverters, please let me know.This system will be used to power a computer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.: Most any charge controller will work as long as the input voltage is rated to handle the open circuit voltage of your panel, which may be in the 40V range. The solar panel's voltage will drop to match the load during charging; it just won't be as efficient as it could be unless you get a controller with maximum power point tracking (MPPT). MPPT will get the most power from the panel and convert it to the proper charging voltage for your battery bank.
