If he is incarcerated he can get another P of A free of charge by requesting it with inmate services. Q: I have this wild idea of powering a window unit from a battery bank. not 100% about how i would charge the batteries but just a crazy idea. Any suggestions on how i might be able to do it?: The only way running a window air conditioner from batteries to be practical would be if you were getting the electricity for free. Like from wind or some other power source. Otherwise you would have to use AC to charge the batteries, which would be converting 120 AC to 12 DC then have to use an inverter to convert the 12 DC to 120 AC. Ok that is all fine and good, but with each transformation you loose power. So if you plan on charging up batteries then running your AC then you would be counterproductive.
