- Q: Are solar panels safe?
- Yes, solar panels are safe. They are designed and installed with safety measures in place to ensure their proper functioning and to minimize any potential risks.
- Q: Can solar panels be installed on an RV or camper?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on an RV or camper. They provide a convenient and eco-friendly way to generate electricity while on the road.
- Q: Can solar panels be used in areas with high levels of dust or dirt?
- Yes, solar panels can be used in areas with high levels of dust or dirt. However, the accumulation of dust and dirt on the surface of the solar panels can reduce their efficiency in generating electricity. Regular cleaning and maintenance may be required to ensure optimal performance in such areas.
- Q: i was told that by making a solar panel they cause more pollution than they will end up getting rid of. Is that true?
- The amount of energy needed to extract the raw materials from the Earth exceeds the amount the finished PV panels produce.Processing the materals takes additional energy. After manufacturing they have to be transported.Photovoltaic panels only generate </2 volt per square inch in bright sunlight. They become less efficient when they get dirty.
- Q: Can solar panels be used in cloudy regions?
- Yes, solar panels can still be used in cloudy regions. While solar panels are more efficient in direct sunlight, they can still generate electricity in cloudy conditions. Clouds diffuse sunlight, but some sunlight still reaches the solar panels, allowing them to produce power. However, the energy output may be lower compared to sunny regions.
- Q: I'm doing a project for school where I will buy a solar panel and utilize/improve the power output of the panel. I want the panel to have an improved amount of energy output compared to the original. My budget for the solar panel itself is ~$00. Anything else that will be needed is covered. Also, I will be comparing the power by lighting a light bulb and checking to see the output energy of the panel.Where or how should I approach this project? What are the parts of the solar panel that I will need to buy? What factors could I change/improve to improve the overall energy output? What are the things (other than the panel) that I will need to buy?How can I attach a light bulb to the solar panel?
- when you're in Malaysia, i'm no longer effective why you desire a heater, except perhaps a water heater. For that, use a photo voltaic heater right away. For the electrical energy, the most value-efficient thanks to do that's to stay linked to the grid, and offset your bill with photo voltaic. That way, you do not favor to oversize the photo voltaic for contingencies. there'll be compromise on your way of existence, each and every thing that plugs into the wall today will nevertheless plug into the wall and artwork advantageous.
- Q: How do solar panels affect the property's branding and marketing?
- Solar panels can positively impact a property's branding and marketing by showcasing its commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. By highlighting the use of clean and renewable energy sources, solar panels can attract environmentally conscious consumers and contribute to a positive brand image. Additionally, the reduced reliance on traditional energy sources can lead to cost savings, which can be highlighted in marketing materials and further enhance the property's attractiveness to potential customers.
- Q: Hoping to find instruction, materials list and hardware needed to construct solar panels myself, how many and make it happen instead of talking about it
- If you think that a solar storm is going to knock out most power utilities in that time, what makes you think that your solar panels will not be affected as well? The cost to even come close to light up half your house will be prohibitive and will take at least a decade or 2 to just break even on your original costs. May want to do a little more research on your 202 storms. If you are concerned about the power going out for a while, then you better check at what else may happen.
- Q: I want to build a standalone wifi repeater -- powered by the sun. The problem is how much solar power and how big of a battery?net draw 4.5v @ 0.66A with loadnet draw 4.5v @ 0.60A no loadI'm assuming the best choice would be a 6v battery with a a couple diodes in series to induce ~.5v drop. Then, I need something to charge it -- I found 2v 6w solar chargers in the automotive section of Sears and 6v 2w solar chargers in the marine section of Dick's Sporting Goods. How many solar panels and what capacity batteries should I use? Is this the best method or should I use a voltage regulator and go with 2v batteries?I need this to be as cheap and simple as possible...
- You won't get very far with THAT lash-up. First of all.. WHY would you want to use diodes to drop the voltage.. they DRAW CURRENT and that is something you don't have to spare. That draw of (660 ma) comes out to just under 3 watts. You DO KNOW that you can get that 4.5 Volts by driving a NAIL into the THIRD CELL in a 6 Volt wet cell battery... right? and for what you are doing, you have more current available with a 6 volt battery than a 2 volt battery. Anyway, you could use two 6 Volt batteries and tap them at the 4.5 volt point then tie them in parallel, but you could still use the 6 volt solar panel to charge them. Trying to use an inverter is just an exercise in futility.. With TWO of the LARGEST DEEP CYCLE BATTERIES you can buy at AutoZone running in Parallel and being charged by solar panels.. if you hook a 75 watt inverter to them, they will go flat in about 4 hours of use during the night. This is not rocket science. Back when cars were changing over from 6 volts to 2 volts, I powered up more than one 6 volt car radio off a 2 volt battery... when you grow up as poor as I did.. you get inventive. I later used the same trick on the 24 volt electrical systems the Jeeps were using, to power up clandestine repeaters in places where no repeaters should have been. About 25 years ago I was living in the Denver area and built up a 0 watt 2 meter repeater on a split channel and took it up to Mt. Evans during the summer and hid it in a pile of rocks. I used tone control, so we were the only ones using it and, as I said, It was a split channel.. so it wasn't on a regular repeater channel. That thing was still running when I moved from the Denver area about 3 years later and for all I know, It's still up there on Mt. Evans (find the Brittlecone Pines and look towards that small peak about a mile to the west)
- Q: I have just made my first dolar panel 20 watts, charges my 27TMX Trojan battery perfectly. Now I am thinking to build more solar panels for a grid tie installation at my house, maybe 5 panels would do it, is this safe?
- Congratulations on your solar panel. It takes a lot of work to construct one. Tying to the electric grid requires permission from your power company, and conformance to local building codes. This generally means compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), meaning your panels must be UL (or similar rating from another standard) listed, for fire and electrical safety reasons. Homemade panels won't qualify, unfortunately. I really would discourage you from trying to do a jungle installation without permission, as the power distribution in a house is nothing to be trifled with. That would also likely void your homeowner's insurance, and give the bank a reason to call your mortgage, if you have these.
