- Q: I'm going on a trip where I need a bear canister should you still put in freeze dried backpacking food into it even if it is not opened, because it would make a lot more room in the canister if I didn't toss it in there.
- Most definitelyA bear's sense of smell is about 7 times as sensitive as a bloodhound'sMale bears have been known to track the scent of breeding females from 100 miles awayThey can smell food through plastic packaging, aluminum cans, glass bottles, and pretty much anything else Each member of the party should also carry bear mace, and by carry I mean on their person where they can grab and deploy it in 3 seconds or less.

- Q: Beta radiation? 100% of scientists are in agreement that high energy beta particles are the signatures of God's telepathic communication rays! But Satan and his demons can also send out these beams to confuse and tempt you. That's why I wear a helmet constructed of sheets of paper thin aluminum at all times and only remove it when I'm feeling extra holy, because aluminum blocks these rays.Since people started using Sears aluminum siding on their homes we've witnessed the destruction of family values because their communication with Jesus has been interruptedThat's why we must tear down all homes with aluminum siding and turn them into Satan-blocking hats!
- Your aluminium foil may not be thick enough to block beta particlesIt will block alpha particles fine but would probably need to be a few mm thick to effectively block beta.
- Q: I have a project for my marketing class, we're making media kits and we're supposed to do creative things to house the kits.I chose a dinosaur eggI have the recipe for paper mache, and I was going to blow up a balloon and mache it.However, I need to be able to open and close it easily and repeatedly (so people can open it to take the components of the kits outKind of like a jewelry box or a treasure chestI thought I would (after it's hardened) cut a slit into it (width wise) but leave about an inch or two inches so I could open and close it like a trunk or treasure chest.Would the paper mache withstand the repeated open and close?Or should I use a different method to open and close it?Or should I create the egg an entirely different way?I enjoy crafts, but I'm not a skilled artist lol so paper mache was something I was familiar with and easy to do (all be it messy)I had someone suggest to carve it out of soap stone, but that's not feasibleAny other helpful suggestions or ideas?
- I'm not an expert on paper mache, but I think the weak spot would be the cut edgesSo to save those edges and to reinforce the whole thing I'd suggest using some type of tape, like duct tape to cover the edges and even to make a hingeA more attractive alternative might be to glue some nice fabric along the edges, again to strengthen and protect it Best of luck.

- Q: I'm looking for some helpI've made lasagna once in my life, back when i was around 12-13 years oldI'm now 19 and attempting to try again with another awesome creationHowever, i know how to layer, but what starts on the bottom, the sauce? and then noodles, filling cheese and such? - Do you mean bulky or super bulky? I think they are different6.5 mm sounds about right to me for bulky yarn but your needles might be too small for super bulkyIt does depend a bit on whether you knit loose or tight - something you might not know yet if you're a beginner - so you might have to try some different stitches until you find one that works for both your yarn and your needlesThere are too many stitch patterns out there for me to be specific but I can make a couple of general suggestionsMittens I think would need a denser stitch than a scarf because you don't want a lot of holes to let the cold air in, so try to find something solid, maybe with just combinations of knit and purl stitchesA scarf could be made in something a bit more open or even lacy, unless you need the scarf to match the mittens; if that's the case then I would stick with something solidI don't use a lot of stitch patterns anymore so I don't know what's available online but I can recommend a series of books, the ones by Barbara WalkerThey're about 30 years old now but they should still be in print because they're great references; you might be able to get them at the libraryThey'll probably give you more ideas than you ever wanted!
