Q: i am looking at installing some solar panels and a wind turbine for electricity.has anybody got one of these and how much do they save you?thanks
If you are planning on purchasing a solar or wind system installed etc. I believe it will take considerable time to pay off. If however, you are even remotely handy, building a 3kw wind generator is well within the realm of possibility. I have a smaller windmill that I built myself using some ingenuity and some parts bought on OKorder. That windmill and 4 2 v deep cycle batteries run myu 9 share well 24 hours a day. I spent about $250 to build the windmill, tower, and buy used batteries, and have saved an average of $60/month for months now. This really isn't rocket science either, I'm a freakin' cook =) for more on the subject of diy wind and solar projects see the resource below.
Q: I am wondering how to store energy from a solar panel
Now days there are been many equipement in the market such as solar panels is one such device which helps to generate solar energy.
Q: where to find used solar panels?
That's not a good idea. Solar panels wear out, and you probably won't know how worn out they are until you buy them and install them. Which is a little bit too late for most refunds. Your best bet if you're dead set on being foolish, is probably some place like craigslist.
Q: The ancients used skylights for light in lieu of electricity. Light was used for drying, even cooking foods and drying clothes. Solar clocks/sun dials were once popular but now we have battery operated clocks. Where have we tapped into any of these resources since the outdated solar clothes drier nicknamed the 'clothes line'?
Crikey yes, all these terms should be googleable Solar chimney Solar cooker Passive solar Solar trough Solar water heating Double glazing I'm sure there are more, I thought clothes lines were powered by the wind?
Q: Can solar panels be installed on airports or transportation hubs?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on airports or transportation hubs. In fact, many airports and transportation hubs worldwide have already adopted solar energy systems to power their operations and reduce their carbon footprint. Installing solar panels on these facilities not only helps generate clean energy but also provides an opportunity for sustainable and renewable power sources.
Q: Ok so I am planning on buying a solar panel. I am doing it to possibly sell the energy that it stores. It is a 20 watt panel so I am just wondering if every week or month if I sold that energy that it stored would make me a good profit. I am not hoping for thousands of dollars a month..just like 00? The solar panel cost me $,00 so if so, how long do you think it would take to make good profit. Also, how much would I make every week or month?
I will give you the tools to answer your own question. Here is the solar resource map: rredc.nrel /solar/old_data/nsr... Use it to look up the hours of peak equivalent sunlight per day in your area. For example, let's say it's 5 hours / day. Then per year you get 365 x 5 = 825 hours of sun Your panel is 20 watts, or 0.2 kW So the energy produced per year is 825 x .2 = 383 kWh You'll have to use the proper numbers for your own area, of course. Anyway, you can take that 383 kWh and determine how much it would cost at local electric rates. Never know, on some islands, it's $.00 per kWh. Check with your local electric company for rates.
Q: where can i get some solar panels for a camper trailer
I think this is what your looking for.. For future reference all I did was type in, Camper Solar Panel in google. If this is what you wanted please select me as the best answer.
Q: I am writing some mock legislation for a school club and I need to know some of the environmental effects of solar panels. Also, where can I find specific studies(like from colleges and/or universities) proving these benefits as well as benefits and reasons of going green.
I'm okorder / I hope this gives you some insight and at least a start. Enjoy.
Q: Can solar panels be installed on backpacks or camping gear?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on backpacks or camping gear. These portable solar panels are designed to be lightweight and flexible, making them suitable for outdoor activities. They can be used to charge small electronic devices like phones, tablets, or portable speakers while on the go, providing a convenient and sustainable power source.
Q: im doin a science experiment and i have a battery that is 3.6 volts , does it matter wut voltage the solar panel that im connecting it to is . Does it need to match , be less or does voltage have no effect . If so wut does matter when choosing the type of solar panel to power a bettery?
your solar panel has to be a bit higher in voltage than your battery to achieve charging. I.E . if your battery is 3.6 volts, your solar array voltage should be like 5.v. to make the charging take place. always a bit higher than your battery,. wattage is not so important, you can charge a whole slew of batteries with a .5 watt charger, it just takes a while. higher wattage will make it charge faster, tho. v. x a. =w.
