Q:where did the ancient romans (or greeks??) get togas from??was it the Assyrian Empire? could you leave a link with more information??thanks.
They made them themselvesClothing manufacture was no mystery to the ancient Geeks or Romans The major steps in the manufacture of clothes are four: first to harvest and clean the fiber or wool; second, to card it and spin it into threads; third, to weave the threads into cloth; and, finally to fashion and sew the cloth into clothesWhen settled neolithic cultures discovered the advantages of woven fibers over animal hides, the making of cloth, drawing on basketry techniques, emerged as one of humankind's fundamental technologiesThe principles of turning vegetable fiber into cloth have remained constant: Plants are cultivated and the fiber harvestedThe fibers are cleaned and aligned, then spun into yarn or threadFinally the yarns are interwoven to produce cloth.
Q:I just finished my first pray shawlIt is made out of good quality yarn, but it is not as soft as I want it to beHow do I soften it?
What kind of yarn is it? (fiber content) Acrylic yarns tend to lose softness if you dry them on high heatUnfortunately, I don't think you can get it back once that's happened:( Animal and plant fiber yarns (many of which can't be machine washed so check your yarn label) tend to really soften up and sometimes bloom (get thicker) when you soak them in warm water with a little speciality detergentYou can use a wool wash like Eucalan, or you can use Ivory dishwashing detergentJust make sure not to scrub; a little swishing around is enoughThen lay the shawl out to dry on top of a towel in a well-ventilated areaIf it's a lace shawl, you'll probably need to pin it out to shape so that it dries prettyGood luck!
Q:I feel the rug cushioning my feet , the fluffy yarn like strings are rainbow colored ,and swallow most of the floorThe stair case walls match the tan carpet as I linger up the straight stairsEveryday I turn into my murky street { first sent of essay}and is this a good sentance what should i change if it isnt:Inside my house the plain white walls seem to close in all around me , the small decorations of paintings and vases catch my eye like a desolate tree with one last leafwhat should i change in these sentances to make them flow and be better descriptive for an essay thanks
first sentencesomehow I can't get the sense that a rug can swallow a floorChoose another word, like smother, or surround,or envelopingAlso fluffy yarn and strings are opposites, maybe a better choice of words would be 'like rainbow colored cotton?' I would change the word yarn to fiberssecond sentencewhat makes the street murky? third sentence seems fine, I wouldn't change a thing.
Q:im doing a water filtration device project and it needs to be environmentalso is yarn good for the environment?
drink lots of water, and eat regularlydon't starve yourself, because once you start eating again, you'll gain everything back, trust meeat lots of fruits and veggies, and if you eat bread, make sure it's whole grainwhite bread is pretty fatteningyou can also eat lean meats, like fish, turkey and chicken breastskip out on sweets, candy, sugary foods, chips, ice cream, cake, and cookiesif you feel hungry, but don't want to over eat, chew gumit'll keep your mouth busy and it tricks yourself into thinking your eatingcut out ALL soda! if you stop drinking soda, it helps you out a lot! and don't forget to exercise! try walking, jogging, jump rope, dancing, bike riding and swimmingtry exercising for 45-80 minutes a daygood luck!
Q:The weather is saying that is going to be in the negatives the next few nightsI know that horses are built for the cold and are ok in cold weather but what if it is like -10 or -2My mare has an ok winter coat and i was wondering if i should blanket her when it gets that cold.
My horses have been out when the wind chill is minus 40 F without blankets, and done just fine.never got sick or even a sniffleIn fact, they prefer to stand outside despite having a cozy shelter to go intoIf you provide 24/7 hay, it will continually produce body heat like an internal furnace as it ferments, and that is better than blankets at keeping horses warm in winterWhen horses are allowed to grow a normal winter coat, they can withstand the coldOften blankets can actually interfere with a horse's ability to retain body heat by flattening the hair coat so it can't function to insulate (air pockets between hairs provide insulation), and if a horse perspires under the blanket, the horse may chillYour horse should do fine without blanketing, especially if you provide extra hay throughout the day and night if needed.
Q:I CAN'T TAKE IT!!! My straightener doesn't work for frizz, I've tried 800 different shampoos and conditioners, and NOTHING makes a difference! The frizz is on top of my head AND on the sides, plus it's all poofy! What can I do to make it smoother and sleeker????? HELP!
Yes you canThe oven is fine for foilJust refrain from using that in the microwave of course You don't need to increase time with or heat with a homemade lasagnaSince most of your stuff is already cookedOnce assembled I bake mine at 350F for about 45 minutes.
Q:what would be better for subfloor.dricore panels or barricade panels.also do the basement ventilation systems work.
you can put tubes in all tires and rims, but if it held that long you may have other problems.
Q:Of recent the Temperature has been well below freezing, how do these animals survive? I mean, their hooves must freeze, which should freeze there legsHorses have blankets, which shield them from the frostCattle and Sheep have fur coats, but still.its freezingThese animals are tough!! Yeah I may sound pathetic, i just cant get over it.LOL
