Q: Can solar panels be installed on sloped roofs?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on sloped roofs. In fact, sloped roofs are one of the most common locations for solar panel installation. The angle and direction of the roof can affect the efficiency of the panels, but with proper installation techniques, it is possible to maximize their energy generation potential on sloped roofs.
Q: What maintenance is required for solar panels?
Solar panels require minimal maintenance. Regular cleaning of the panels to remove dirt, debris, and any shading objects is necessary to ensure optimal performance. Additionally, inspecting the panels for any damage or malfunctioning components is recommended. It is also important to monitor the system's performance and keep track of any changes. Overall, solar panels are designed to be durable and require very little maintenance.
Q: Alright my family and i are buying a new home in Bradford,Ontario, we we thinking about solar panels and had a couple questions:. how much are they each?2. how many will we need to power a single family home(4 ppl)3. where can we find them in ontario?4.how much money do they really save you?5.what kind of energy do they providfe you withand other basic info or a website i can check out would be great!thanks in advance!
The demand for residential solar power is growing rapidly. Traditionally, this has been very expensive, ranging between $0,000 and $$40,000 for an average home. Many states have rebates and other financial incentives for solar conversions, but the cost is still out of most people’s reach. What many people don’t realize is that you can save most of the up-front costs by building solar panels for your home yourself. With the many DIY solar kits available now, building a solar panel is simple enough for the average person to do. In fact, you can download your guide right now for under $50, make a trip to the hardware store and pick up your materials for under $200 and get started today.
Q: we are doing a fundraiser to have students pledge to make donations for a solar panel instalation on one of the school buildings. I am looking for a slogan for the campain.
nasa solar panels seem to be better than silica / silicone (i forgot the exact chemical) they make them with ink and aluminum then case them in glass, they are supposed to last like 30 years or something. good stuff. anyway a SLOGAN: solar pannels save money, and over the long run allow the school to save tht momney or use it somewhere else in the school, ie better food, better seats, better computers, whtever. maybe you can relate the campain slogan to what the savings will be used for. maybe a new scince program thats funded solely on the savings of the panels. but ok a slogan: IT'S OBSCEEEENCE, ROTFL... GIVE SOME DOLLAR$$ AND GO GREEEEEN!!!!!! eh, i know not so hot, gimme a minuet. lol LET'S MAKE THIS PANEL HAP'N CAP'N... MIB! LMAO THE SUN, FREE FUN, COME ON AT LEAST GIVE ONE (place pic of dollar bill below the ONE) good luck.
Q: My electric bill per month averages 800 kWh per month. I am looking at 65W solar panels. How many panels would I need to make my bill come to zero? I realize I also need an inverter to convert dc to ac.
I like TBS0's answer, but 5KW isn't going to hack it. We don't live life on the average. If you turn on the oven, the dryer, the iron, a bunch of lights, and the TV, you are going to shut the system right down. You should not count on running everything with solar cells, but the most critical circuits. And you are lucky to have 25% of a day in optimum solar alignment for photocells. You need to think outside the Al Gore crazy box. Our modern way of life requires a lot of power! If you switched to coal or wood for cooking and heating and ironing, sunshine for drying clothes, heating the hot water heater, and for daytime lighting, then you could use the photocells for some lighting and the washing machine and anything electronic. You might stand a chance.
Q: So I want to power one of my car fans with some solar panels. I ordered quite a few and I want to power one of my fans under the hood. I've already disconnected the fan and pulled it out of the car to test it later. What all do I need besides the panels, fan, and wiring to make this work. This fan will not be tied to any other system. Currently, the fan is not operated by the car or any system of the car due to a modification made to the automobile allowing me to disconnect it from use months ago.Using the fan powered from the solar panels would help with the modification to increase air flow and speed into the area.Could someone please help me by telling me what else I need to make the fan operational from here?
You may not like it, but the answer's still the same. A car fan will draw anything from a few to several hundred watts, depending on which fan you're talking about (A/C, ventilation, cooling). A solar array will take up roughly one square meter to generate 00 Watts with the sun shining straight down onto it, so you'll need to cover (more or less) the entire roof (or hood) with solar cells in order to power that fan (minimum). If you still want to go ahead: Solar panels, Fuse, cables. Preferrably one cut-out diode per panel (in addition to the hopefully present internal diodes in the panels) in order to prevent one panle dumping its load into the next instead of into the fan. Much better option: get a low power fan (e.g a slow running computer fan) and connect it to that panel of yours. These fans make do with about 0 Watts (at a much lower air throughput), so you'll actually have a chance of running it from the solar panel without coverig your car in panels.
Q: Are solar panels safe for the environment?
Yes, solar panels are safe for the environment. They generate clean and renewable energy by converting sunlight into electricity, resulting in no harmful emissions or pollution. Additionally, solar panels do not deplete natural resources and have a minimal impact on ecosystems when properly installed and maintained.
Q: Can solar panels be installed on a historic building?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a historic building with careful planning and consideration. It is important to ensure that the installation does not compromise the architectural integrity or aesthetic value of the building. Special mounting systems and design techniques can be used to minimize any visual impact. Additionally, local regulations and preservation guidelines may need to be followed.
Q: So idk how to connect a solar panel to a battery ...is it like a series connection from the solar panel to the battery, or a parallel connection from solar cell to battery? (to charge) please and thank you
I agree, you should get a charge controller and install appropriate fuses.
Q: Interested to know if it is possible to install Solar Panels to run my Jacuzzi?Don't want to do the whole house just the jacuzzi anybody have any ideas Thanks
You can do this by isolating the jacuzzi, you will need a solar array adequate for the power draw of the jacuzzi, a charge controller, battery bank, off-grid inverter and switch gear. This is the expensive way to go--especially if you are planning to heat the water with the solar. A better option would be to heat the jacuzzi with solar thermal panels. It is plumbing instead of electrical, but the cost would be much less. If you still want to do PV (electric) solar, think about putting a non-isolated grid-tie solar array on your home. They are much cheaper, and if you think about it, it really does not matter if you use the solar electricity to run a light, a fridge, a TV, or a Jacuzzi, that amount of power is subtracted from your overall house power bill. Just size the array for the power output of the jacuzzi, and let the power meter do the rest. Your overall result will be the same and the system will be half the price, or less.
