Q:We live around the corner from our town's high school. Every day, the kids speed up and down our road before and after school like their tails are on fire!!!! We have small kids and worry about what could happen IF! (Obviously we keep our kids very well in check and watch them very closelyand they aren't allowed in the front yard or in the street!)So, my husband and I have been trying to concoct (spelling?) ways of getting them to slow down, including talking to the police Chief (to no avail). We've been told we can't build our own speed bumps.Any suggestions? This is really to the point of boiling nerves! Q:How can I make my Stratus higher off the ground? It scrapes on speed bumps&ground when I don't miss a pothole: Never owned a home alarm system I never had a break in or other problem. Maybe NOT having an alarm system protected me? ;-) Had an alarm system when we owned a retail store. Never needed it. Cost us alot of money, was a pain to disarm, and would give false alarms.

Q:m not talking about a door lock built into that doorknob. It's kind of like the door lock Peter Parker used in The Amazing Spiderman. The new one.. Thanks!: There should be a procedure in the manual. If not, you should have paid attention when the installer told you what to do when you got the alarm. If the previous two items do not apply, then try to find the valet switch; it should be a little push button thingy under the driver side dash. Now put the key in the ignition, and set it to ACC, the position just before it turns the starter. Now push and hold the valet switch until the LED on top of the (steering column, dash, where ever they put it) turns to a solid red. This is the factory reset settings. You may still need to take it in to get it to function fully, but it should respond to the remote now. Another way is to disconnect the main power for about 2 minutes. Just pull the harness off the positive (red) terminal on the battery.

Q:What's this so called Valentine's Day I've been hearing so much about?Am I suppose to do anything on this day?I'm only asking because whatever it is, it'll probably be dull with me being on my own: I've got an LG KU990 (Viewty) which is the same, the alarm won't turn make a noise if the phone's on silent or vibrate and there's no way around that in any of the settings. I'm sure it would be possible if you got into the phone system using mobyexplorer or something similar but i wouldn't recommend it unless you know what you're doing! Looks like you'll have to either keep it on ring, or invest in an alarm clock!

Q:I am installing a water softener at my house. It will be installed in a shed in the backyard. I need to run 1-1/4 copper pipe from my main supply pipe to the shed. My questions are:1. Can I solder the fittings with standard lead-free solder?2. Do I need to ground the pipe? Q:I've noticed people ask similar questions on here about smoke detectors beeping only to receive glib, even rude, responses telling them that they need to change the batteries. Before anyone suggests that to me, I'd like you to know the alarm does NOT operate on batteries and is connected directly the wiring in my house. It doesn't even have a backup battery (not good, but I had nothing to do with the construction of the house and until I can get an electrician to change it out for me, I'm pretty much stuck with what I have).Now that we have that out of the way, it is made by Lifesaver, and has a Hush button and a Reset button. I have pressed both. I have reset the breaker that controls the alarm at the breaker box. Nothing has worked. Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do? Q:i have a fire alarm in my apartment room that is on the roof. if i pull it off there is 3 wires connected to it. black red and white. i like to smoke in my room and not worry about the 5000 fine. if i pull the plug do they know i've tampered with it? can i unplug and plug back in at any time? whats other ways to stop it from going off? i thought about putting a bowl over it and duct taping it to the roof.: The radioactive source emits alpha particles the air between the electrodes is ionized by the alpha particles a current flows between the electrodes - the alarm stays off a fire starts and smoke particles absorb the alpha radiation the circuit is broken so no current flows the alarm sounds I think that works out

Q:my smoke alarm keeps going off. It happens like every 5-10min and no these are not juss little beeps that its making for me to change the battery. I need to know how to disconnect, so that i can replace my hard wired smoke alarm of course its battery backup. So do i just take the battery out, twist the smoke alarm and just cuz the wires and thats that?: Use wraps and gloves. Professional kickboxers/MMA fighters use both. If you want to strengthen your wrists, google instructions on how to make a makiwara board. Punching a bag without wraps is not a good way to do so.
