- Q: help! my corn snakes have had eggs i have incubated them and put them in vermiculite they are stuck together i know thats normal but they have started to collaps after only 1 week and some of them have yellow marks on them do you thing they are dead or alive?plz reply i need help!!
- There are two ways which have worked well for me, misting works well in keeping the vermiculite damp, but it should be just damp not wet, the other method i have used is to place the vermiculite on a couple of pieces of kitchen roll with plenty over hanging then to mist this, that way the kitchen roll act like a wick and pulls the moisture under the vermiculite.
- Q: My leo gecko has a thing full of moist vermiculite, but she won‘t lay her egg. Is it just because everyone is making noise or something like that? Yes, she has a boyfriend. She is between two and three.
- She might not be ready, she might be having problems, she might be reabsorbing them.
- Q: I‘ve prepared a plastic container with a couple of holes. Can I use potting soil instead of vermiculite? will the eggs be lack of oxygen if i close the lid?
- Potting soil is fine, so long as it is sterile. Use steam to sterilize it. The box will have plenty of air. The main problem is drying out. If you have a good scale, weigh the box every so often and add a ml of water for each gram of weight lost. If you don't, just wing it.
- Q: I‘m new to growing microgreens and have tried Mel‘s mix and straight vermiculite, but a neighbor suggested cheap clay cat litter, which is what he uses to start bamboo from seed. Any suggestions on a good growing medum for microgreens would be most welcome. I like the mat idea but they are expensive for a one use product in my opinion. Thanks!
- No, clay cat litter is not a good choice for growing microgreens. When clay becomes saturated, it loses its pore space. Clay is the smallest part of soil. Clay particles can only be seen individually under an electron microscope. The other components to soil are silt, which are medium sized particles, and sand which are large particles. Good soil needs all three in certain amounts. This is soil science and can get pretty technical. To grow microgreens, you'd be better off with a good growing soil that holds some water but drains easily. It will have a good mineral base with a good amount of composted organic matter. The compost will supply basically all the nutrients the greens will need.
- Q: My dirt is mostly all clay. But I want to plant a few rose bushes. Do they all need sun only? If they are climbers, I have to get something for them to climb on. Is any material better than another? Is there one type of rose that is easier to grow than another?Thank you. :)
- the new knockout series roses are easy to grow
- Q: Main applications of expanded vermiculite
- Vermiculite can be used in flowers, vegetables, fruit cultivation, seedling raising and so on. In addition to potting soil and regulators, it is also used for soilless culture. As a nutrient base for growing potted trees and commercial beds, it is especially advantageous for the transplanting and transportation of plants. Vermiculite can effectively promote plant root growth and seedling growth is stable. Provide water and nutrients necessary for plant growth for long periods of time and maintain the stability of root sun temperature. Vermiculite can make crops from the early stages of growth can be sufficient water and minerals, to promote rapid growth of plants, increase production.
- Q: pls help me. im very eager to grow them here. my friends from the usa say that its totally cool and makes you hallucinate. how can i make it WITHOUT cow poop or vermiculite. how can i grow them on normal grass, cuz thats all i have at home. PLS HELP ME!
- It's pearlite, I don't think it's bad for people considering we all touch it when planting, but I would make sure he doesn't eat it.
- Q: which is stronger, hypertufa or concrete?
- Concrete is stronger. hypertufa: Aggregates are generally Sphagnum (peat moss), sand, and perlite or vermiculite.[1] Hypertufa made with the classic proportions for mortar (1 part cement: 3 parts aggregate) has a composition of 3 parts Type I Portland cement 4 parts Sphagnum 5 parts perlite or 3 parts cement: 9 parts aggregate[2] To increase structural strength and longevity, polymer fibers, liquid acrylic,[2] and fiberglass[3] may be incorporated into the mixture, along with various grades of sand, pebbles, and crushed rock which add to the final object's overall strength and stone-like appearance though they increase its weight. Powdered concrete dyes (in small amounts) also tint the hypertufa to resemble natural rock.[2] Sphagnum is peat moss which is an organic compound. This can eventually decompose and further weaken the structure. Hypertufa is mainly used for ornamental structures such as planters and other garden ornaments.
- Q: Buy vermiculite what are the notes, buy vermiculite to understand
- There is mainly a sediment concentration problem. Fine general tons of vermiculite. Vermiculite: yellow, red, white, Xinjiang white, etc.. General gold is the cheapest.
- Q: Tell me what you know about growing amaryllis from seed?
- It takes a long time for them to bloom. Like four or five years. When they first come up, they look like a small sprig of St. Augustine grass. The only good reason to grow amaryllis from seed is if you want to cross-pollinate two different varities to produce a new type of flower. Otherwise buy the bulbs of your choice and enjoy them next year instead of in 2012.
