Q: What are it's advantages and disadvantages in both commercial farming and subsistence farming?
Good question Advantages of Commercial Farming Can generate cash, the products are therefore intended to be marketed for profit. An extra profit is needed to fund the next cropping activities. A positive impact on an economy, unemployment decreases more people and resources are fully utilize and as a result government generates more revenue through taxes which makes an economy of a country more powerful. Disadvantages of Commercial Farming is that only certain crops would be produce as it has more money value. Peoples' would not get a variety to choose. Advantages of Subsistence Farming The people who worked there can get the food and it is a quite cheap as compare to Commercial Farming where excess of money is required to operate the farm whereas in subsistence farming you just have to buy a little piece of land and little money to be spend on the crops. Disadvantages are there is no proper source of income in this farming system. Difficult to buy seeds for new crops due to a cash-flow problem. A farmer has to work hard to yields the crops. Hope this helps and I think you are a student, if is it so then I am sure with this answer you would get 100% :)
Q: why mild steel is used for machinery?
its tough and cheap. cheap always wins.
Q: I swore into the Navy and i chose MR over a few other jobs, the other jobs sucked and they said this was the better one of them all. Do you know where MR's are usually stationed and if its a cool job? thanks
You need a job that you can be happy with. Too many guys go in with no idea, and end up really mad at the system. The time they spend ends up being a waste. I liked being an ET. As a Computer System Analyst, anyone who thinks it is not the highest tech job is crazy. I wrote code and repaired circuits; so it was working on both hardware and software. Often trying to figure out which side the problem was on. I later got into Intell, and served as a Command Intelligence Officer. Which was also cool. I know a lot of Nucs too. Really it is all good. I do recommend that you consider subs. On subs your working with a better group of guys. More bubbleheads have degrees than you would see on a surface ship, and your more encouraged to finish a degree, or three. Also your more encouraged to invest and built a portfolio. Bubbleheads are paid more, and encouraged to attend courses on tax-planning and investing. So it is possible to come out at 20 years with multiple degrees and very wealthy. But the most important thing is to be happy with your choice.
Q: humanity have acknowledge all inventions from lighter to x-rays and to infrared, and to ultraviolet rays, electromagnetic propulsions and space travel -seems to provide great assistance to humanity-yet, cancer, AIDS, parkinsons, alzhimers have no cure at all??,global warming, wars etc.. so is science missing A LOT from REALITY??
That's a good point, yet, we don't get to completely pick and choose what science allows us to solve first. It's a long, slow road to knowledge, and one discovery reinforces the next. We might have an answer on how to use lasers to correct vision, but curing cancer is a whole other set of disciplines and discoveries. It's not magic, it's a steady process where one discovery is built upon thousands of previous ones, but only when the right information is available at the right time. It's not that science has it's priorities out of whack. They just don't have the answers to all the problems, yet. It takes time. It takes time to take the principles discovered by science and turn them into workable technologies. Patience.
Q: Is technology (phones, tv, internet, machinery) destroying human relationships?I personally believe it is in little ways. 1.) Advertisements are continually cheapening human interaction. Example: the man who is talking about finding his queen and we think he is talking about a woman but no he is talking about a sofa. 2.) Face to face interaction has become less and less important in society. We are all on our phones, watching TV or on our computers sending text messages or on facebook. 3.) Everywhere you look people are not looking at the person they are talking to, they are too busy with gadgets. I mean who here has been annoyed becuase the person they were talking to was texting?4. We now have more ways than ever to communicate but we are farther apart than we have ever been.So basically my question is, Do you think technology is good or bad for humans?
Yes actually I believe it is also. I went from calling my mother like 6 times a day to sending her and my little sister IM's on Yahoo Messenger, and hitting up their myspace's. We do it more and more since she moved from where I am in Massachusetts to Georgia. Also, I Google everything. A Dictionary, Thesaurus, Phone Book, even Bible I can look up all the information online.
Q: Explain why machinery used on a.c supply is usually rated in kVA instead of kW.?
Because most machinery present an inductive load and so has a less-than-unity power factor. The current peak lags the voltage peak in the two waveforms. However, as the current is drawn at a lower voltage (away from the peak), the load current is higher to get the same overall power to the machine. eg. if it took 20% more current to make up for the voltage phase offset, a 1000W load would be taking the same current as a 1200W load at unity power factor. That's the VA rating, it's equivalent to watts at unity power factor.
Q: industrial era
Because automation reduced the need for workers.
Q: Material costs, machinery costs, management costs, labor costs accounted for the proportion of construction projects
5, travel expenses, property insurance, 6, 7, 8, engineering maintenance fees, sewage charges, 9, labor protection fees, inspection fees, 10 test, 11, outside the unit management fee, 12, finishing materials and sporadic freight, 13, material shortage and damage
Q: I was tasked to look for at least two design experiments to illustrate the industrial applications of AC machines. We are going to perform the design experiments in our laboratory classes. Please help me. Anything simple could do.
You could demonstrate that as the load on a three phase induction motor or transformer, increases, so too does the power factor. This is something that is important to demonstrate as it will lead to the correct size motor or transformer, being installed. A second demonstration could be showing that as the mechanical load on a three phase motor, increases, the motor draws more current and the slip speed percentage, increases slightly. You can use a prony brake to apply more load in both of these demonstrations. You will also need a power factor meter, a watt-meter and a tachometer.
Q: JFK Jr crashed his airplane while drunkJFK shot himself while drunk - and they blamed it on some guy behind a bushTeddy drown his mistress while driving drunkPatrick crashed his car into the Capital while drunkwhat's with these clowns ?
Joe Jr. was killed while piloting a bomber plane over the English Channel durring WW2, when the bonb detonated in the bomb bay. Kathleen Kennedy died in a plane crash when she ordered the pilot to fly in spite of bad weather. The plane crashed into the side of a mountain in poor visibility. Susan Kennedy was killed in a freak accident involving a stapler. Yes, the Kennedys just refuse to follow basic safety rules, and they end up having fatal accidents, especially when machines are involved. EDIT: No, Joe did not operate the stills himself. He probaby had no idea how one worked, and he might not even recognize a still if he saw one. Joe smuggled imported liquor into the country during the Prohibition. He had nothing to do with making the stuff.
