- Q: I got mine done this morning, and like the dumba** I am, I got it on the side that I sleep on. A friend of mine said she slept on hers the first night and didn't hurt and it was fine, but I don't believe that to be true. If I have to sleep on my other side, I could but it's very hard for me to fall asleep like that, and I often switch positions while asleep unconsciously. Any tips?
- Unless you take it out, there isn't much you can do. To help me fall asleep (I'm a side sleeper btw) I lie on my back, close my eyes and stay super still. I don't think about anything, just picture all black. I breathe in and out slowly, holding my breath each way. I usually fall asleep no problem that way. You will probably turn in your sleep, you will just need to see how it is tomorrow I guess :)

- Im assuming the scaffolding is the same as the industrial... i have it and i LOVE IT. it really wasnt that painful, it was a quick pinch and that was it, over and done with... you have to make sure you clean it with antibacterial soap alot and follow your artists instructions. Dont worry about the pain because its only for a miniute... it was too sore for me to sleep on only the first day, after that it was still tender but i was able to sleep on it with out a problem. it does take a long time for these piercings to heal.... 6-8 months but it doesnt hurt or anything (unless you try to take it out and put it back in before it heals-OUCH). the only thing i will warn you about it it is very common to get bumps around the hole of the piercing- not sure why... if this happens all you have to do is crush up plain ol asprin into a powder and mix it into a paste with water and apply it to the bump twice a day for a week or so and they go right away :) i say do it, you only live once... i wanted mine for years until finally one day i said you know you only live once, this is my body and thats the way i want to portray it and that gave me the courage to just do it already :)
- Q: Hiya, I just had a scaffold piercing on the 14th of this month.. and everything was fine but in the last couple of days my ear has become a bit swollen and has broke out into spots. The actual piercing is fine, I found some dry blood on the end of the piercing but I dismissed that as nothing. The piercing doesn't hurt at all but its the itching that's getting to me! :(Any advice please, (bear in mind i shall be going to the doctors)Thanks
- You shouldn't need to see the doctor. You may be having a reaction to the jewelry. Doctors are not very knowledgeable about piercings. In fact, most that I've met are quite biased against them. Swelling with a scaffold piercing is normal. Sometimes it takes a few days to take effect. Go to your piercer and let them take a look at it first. If you're wearing surgical steel you may need titanium. Also make sure you're only using sea salt soaks twice a day to keep it clean. No antiseptic cleaners, witch hazel, alcohol, peroxide, antibiotic ointment, most soaps, etc.
- Q: Why do so many buildings in Manhattan have scaffolding on the street level?
- Probably because many building are old and have to be repaired and they don't want stuff falling on people. Regulations require it when they are working on buildings.
- Q: Basically iv had my scaffold for around 2 years, it is completely healed. About six months ago i had to take the single bar out and put two separate bars in, i went to the shop i had it done at and they sold me two clear labret bars, at the time i did not realise that these were much thinner than my normal bar and because after time they became brittle and discoloured i changed them to two metal eyebrow bars as a short term solution, i need some advice on what to do regards changing back to a single scaffold bar, i would like to freely be able to change between a single bar and two bars/hoop, but im sure it would cause too much damage to my ear and too much pain to keep stretching it to a scaffold bar to then let it go down and stretch it again i will be needing a single bar at weekends not in the week, what should i do?

- Piercings are all in the eye of the beholder. Some people adore them, some despise them... Keep in mind industrials can be a ***** to heal though.
- Q: is it possible for me to get an industrial piercing like do i have the right kind of ear shape for it ?
- You can definitely get it! When you go in to get it they'll just measure the length from side to side of your ear and pick a bar according.. then you'll just have to go through the piercing process which isn't bad at all. Good luck!
