GENERAL INFORMATION

The installation of PV modules requires a great degree of skill and should only be performed by a qualified licensed professional, including licensed contractors and licensed electricians. Please be aware that there is a serious risk of various types of injury occurring during the installation including the risk of electric shock. All CUSTOMER modules are equipped with a permanently attached junction terminal box that will accept variety of wiring applications or with a special cable assembly for ease of installation, and they do not require assembly.

FAQ:

Q1: Why buy Materials & Equipment from OKorder.com?

A: All products offered byOKorder.com are carefully selected from China's most reliable manufacturing enterprises. Through its ISO certifications, OKorder.com adheres to the highest standards and a commitment to supply chain safety and customer satisfaction.

Q2: What is a solar PV module?

A: A solar PV module consists of many solar cells that are connected together (typically in series) and packaged in a frame (typically made of aluminum).

Q3: What are the advantages and disadvantages of monocrystalline solar PV modules?

A: Monocrystalline solar PV modules are the most efficient type of solar PV modules, with the exception of CdTe thin film solar PV modules. As a result, monocrystalline solar PV modules are more expensive when compared to almost all other types of solar PV modules.

Q:Are there any government incentives or rebates for installing solar panels?
Yes, there are various government incentives and rebates available for installing solar panels. These incentives can include federal tax credits, state and local grants, and utility rebates. These programs aim to encourage the adoption of renewable energy sources and can significantly offset the upfront costs of installing solar panels. It is advisable to check with local authorities and utilities to determine the specific incentives and rebates available in a particular area.
Q:how much power is generated with solar panels? also please give me links for that information.and how much would the costs be for this alternative energy source?
If you put 'solar world statistics' into a search engine, you will discover that there are many statistics that are being heavily contested. Picking up the truth from among hype is the task. Solar panels typically have a rated maximum output of about 0 watts per sq metre. But actual delivery to grids of kWh would point to a number closer to 4 watts / sq M. on a 24 hour basis. Grid management is thus cautious about yield claims when history points to only /8 of rated maximum output. There may be some inappropriate expectations, when a solar roof is first powering the building, and only selling excess to the grid.
Q:In nature, green leaves collect light and produce energy. Is this what they copied to make solar panels? If not how hard would it be to make artificial leaves that would power our homes?
Not at all. Good guess but they are completely different processes. Solar panels use chemicals that create electricity when exposed to light. Photons pretty much add energy to the atoms and affect the electrons creating electricity. Feel free to look up how solar cells work online.
Q:Are there any noise or sound-related issues with solar panels?
No, solar panels do not produce any noise or sound-related issues as they convert sunlight into electricity silently.
Q:I live in the UK, I have no savings (so would have to take out a loan of about ?8000), I don't know how long I plan to stay in my house, I might want to move in a year or two to take advantage of a better job so I want to keep the option open of being able to sell my house without having to pay off the cost of having the panels fitted (which I probably won't get back on the increased value they add to my house). What are the main advantages of having solar panels? What are the pitfalls the ever so eager cold callers with quotas to fill don't tell you about?Basically is it worth having them?Thankyou.
In 2007, the cost of solar photoelectric power was 38 cents US per kwh while the cost of coal power was 0.6 cents per kwh but consumer costs for power were 2 cents per kwh as additional coal power plants are not being built so wind and natural gas are being built. Without government incentives, solar power are not economic. However, the UK has extensive subsidies for solar, I would suggest that you learn how to perform Internal Rate of Return ( IRR ) calculations and Net Present Value ( NPV ) calculations to evaluate your financial decision, excel has an excellent =XIRR() function to do this with. Most people talk about payback periods but that's due to the poor level of financial education in the population and payback periods don't give you an appropriate evaluation of the time value of money. With solar power, it's a razor thin line of economics so you have to get the calculations right to know what's in your best interest, the laymen hearsay isn't going to do it.
Q:Where can I buy solar panels other than online in Charlotte, NC?
You need to be more specific about what type of solar panel. ) PhotoVoltaic (produces electricity) 2) Fluid (Glycol) (heats water or air using a heat exchange tank) 3) Fluid (Water) for pool water heating
Q:Are solar panels noisy?
No, solar panels are not noisy. They operate silently as they convert sunlight into electricity without any moving parts.
Q:I am going to be building green in the next couple of years and i need an idea of how many solar panels i need in addition to a wind turbine to sufficiently handle a workshop, house, green house, etc. and what the approximate cost will be.
I think Brian's answer was perfect for the US, but in the UK, with very high gas and oil prices, we would also look at hydrogen production from the wind turbine instead of a battery store, where excess capacity could be used to heat the house or potentially act as a car fuel. Alternatively we would look to selling back excess electricity to the grid.
Q:I have a 2 volt deep cylce Everstart battery with 845 cranking amps, and a Grape Solar GS-S-250-Fab5 250-Watt Monocrystalline Solar Panel . I use them to power a 48Flat screen TV, a Roku, my 65 watt consuming MacBook Pro, and a 65 watt Fan.I know from previous experience that just the battery, an inverter, and the fan, that the fan will blow for 0 hours straight.Should I really be concerned with a Charge Controller?
Should I really be concerned with a Charge Controller? Yes. The main purpose of the charge controller is to protect the battery from over charging. Over charging reduces battery life. And spending extra money for a MPPT type controller will get more more useable power out of your solar panel. Would another battery of the same magnitude be helpful in preventing an accident? How much storage capacity does your current battery have (measured in kWH)? A ~$20 Kill-a-Watt meter would take a lot of uncertainty out of how much power you actually use. Even deep cycle batteries suffer reduced battery life from deep discharges. The battery sounds too small for the loads you describe so I would think you would want more. ---------------------------------------... After reading the other answer In a nutshell, with your small 2 volt starting battery, 24 volt panel and a mix of unknown loads, (which is correct), I thought I would elaborate. I had not considered the possibility that you bought a 24 volt panel for your 2 volt battery. Hooking the panel you bought directly to the current battery is a horrible idea. I you were lucky it would just cook the battery in a short period of time. You basically bought the wrong type of panel for a 2 volt system. I assume that there are no controllers on the the market for this situation. If that's the case, I don't know of any good way match the 24v panel to the 2 volt battery.
Q:I need to reduce the average monthly home electricity bill by powering some of the household appliances using solar panels. Can I use a 250 watt solar panel to power a medium sized upright fridge?
How many watts does your fridge consume? Do you want it to work at night when the solar panels aren't doing anything? Probably not.
