- Q: AMD recently relased the bulldozer series ... for the moment the intel i series still beats the processors... could it bee that in the future whit a path the amd can be better?I use it for gaming...or should i stay at intel?
- Bulldozer will never beat the 3rd or 2nd gen intels. It forces cores to share cache and take turns allocating threads. It's just inefficient. A step backwards from Phenom II. Right now the 3rd gen Intels are the best CPUs out there. For gaming, i5 3570k is best.

- Its the newest from AMD...its 8 core and it needs the new am3+ socket..however older am3's will work in the am3+ socket. Will you need it? do you need a 6 core now? You can run any game on a 4 core and most on a 2 core so an 8 core would be overkill. Its more for the enthusiast and anyone who wants bragging rights

- Yeah, you'll want to wait for Bulldozer. Now the top of the line Bulldozer Chip is the FX-8170p that's stock clocked at over 4ghz. I don't know if they actually needed someting with a higher clock speed to beat the core i7 or if they plan to charge $500-600 for that chip. The prices of the Core i5-2500k and i7-2600k have already dropped $30-40. I paid $334 for the i7-2600k, now it's $300. What will the price be in 2 months? You know something's wrong or UP when an Intel processor goes down in price. Usually, they're trying to find a way to increase or maintain the price. To say Sandy Bridge is better is Fanboyism. AMD Claims that bulldozer will be 40%-50% faster while using the same Thermal Design Power. Most of AMD's Pehnom II high end chips run at 125TDP. The FX-p series runs at the same TDP. It's impossible to look at a benchmark becasue the 125w p series chips are all 8-core chips.
