Q:I tried cleaning my plastic windows in my truck with water thinking if i wiped it up right away it wouldn't leave any spots but it did... I'm not trying to buy anything expensive and I was under the impression you don't use windex on plastic... Any ideas?: If they are actually Lexan or Plexiglass the best thing i have found is Lemon Pledge furniture polish.I kid you not...the stuff works great.That's all i use on my motorcycle windshield.

Q:i got mad and threw something a my widow and one panel broke so how do i reinforce that otherpanel: I have repaired CRACKED window panes. It's important that none of the glass fell out, AND that all the cracked edges fit to each other tightly, AND are flush with each other. When all the pieces are flush [flat to each other, and in the same 'plane'] I VERY GENTLY AND CAREFULLY squeeze Super Glue ONLY INTO the cracks. IF one is very careful, surface tension 'draws' [sucks] the glue into the crack without leaving any excess on the glass surfaces to mar the appearance, AND if done properly, when cured, the glue 'disappears,' and the crack almost disappears. The Super Glue not only 'hides' the crack, but it also reinforces and waterproofs the joint. I do not know how long this 'fix' will last because the Ultraviolet in sunlight MIGHT degrade the glue, but if it should, one could always just 'run another bead' of glue.

Q:Every fall we put plastic on the outside of our windows to provide added insulation during the winter. The plastice we use is said to be clear but isnt. It always ends up that we cant see out the windows all winter. It really sucks. Does anyone know of an insulating plastic that is trully clear and will allow us to actually see out the windows?: Use pure clear garbage bags and double sided tape on the inside of the windows, only cut out the center part of the bag or sheet, and tape the loose part down what it will look like is a picture frame, leaving you your window to look out but smaller. Q:I bought a halloween plastic poster of a black cat for a window and it ended up melting to the window, I took as much as I could off but there's quite a it left and the ink also left behind..put rubbing alcohol on it and tried scraping..not the best solution there. Q:well i have a 1992 alfa romeo spider and some idiots sliced the back of the convertible on my plastic window. i was wondering how much it would cost if i send it to a shop and they sew off the old plastic window and sew back on a new plastic window: they can do it --they have to remove the top-remove the stitching from old window and remove window-sew in window- replace top on car--this is NOT cheap but still cheaper than new top=--look for about 400 buck charge--shop all the auto upholstery shops in your area first--talk to your friends -talk to people in auto industry that have used any shops--you are naturally looking for someone that can do the job and do it efficiently and correctly- and at the lowest price==most shops operate on the cheap,good,fast idea--you can have any 2 of these statements--cheap and good not fast--you get the idea

Q:I'm about to move into an apartment room that I have been warned gets very cold in the winter (I live in MN). However, the person telling me this also mentioned that the windows had not been plastic wrapped the previous winter. In her opinion, however, plastic wrapping the windows would do no good because according to her quot;you can actually feel the cold coming up through the floor.quot; I think it's possible though that what she felt coming in through the floor was actually the drafts from the window sinking to the ground and spreading. No. It needs an air barrier between the plastic and the window.. So basically you put plastic on the sill and walls, covering the window over all, and yes, that does work. I do it on my bathroom window during winter. Because it gets freekin' cold. Nobody likes taking a hot shower, then walking out of it nude in to Antarctica..
