Q: I am writing a fantasy novel and part of it has to deal with farming and so I'd like to have a bit more information about low tech farming methods. Farming during the middle-ages and before the industrial revolution etc.
If okorder
Q: Does using a Tractor or other type of machinery in FarmVille still get me Experience and Mastery Pts?
I know picking up a shovel and planting some tomatoes in your backyard gives you +1 stamina and a fresh salad.
Q: Poll: Can you operate heavy machinery?
Literally, yes. My father is a construction worker, and I've operated a backhoe and a forklift.
Q: What mechanical keyboard is better for playing lol?
Cheaper with Kay cool 104, magic duck 2108, and so on, between 300 and 500, mid-range with Logitech G710, magic duck 9108, mid-range cherries, 700 - 900
Q: a manager has to make a choice in whether to have specialized machinery needing fewer workers or general machinery requiring more workers to operate it effectively.
you know the self checkout lanes at the grocery store? i won't go through them. hell no. i will wait all day to go through the line with a human being ringing my stuff up. machines should make our jobs easier. not replace us.
Q: Capital resources include buildings and machinery. true or false?
True and false, depends on your business and what you need to perform business. If you have a farm your capital resources would be your barn, silo and thresher. These same resources would not be same for a trucker whose resources would be a truck, trucker log and fuel. It really depends on what you need to do business.
Q: Is technology (phones, tv, internet, machinery) destroying human relationships?I personally believe it is in little ways. 1.) Advertisements are continually cheapening human interaction. Example: the man who is talking about finding his queen and we think he is talking about a woman but no he is talking about a sofa. 2.) Face to face interaction has become less and less important in society. We are all on our phones, watching TV or on our computers sending text messages or on facebook. 3.) Everywhere you look people are not looking at the person they are talking to, they are too busy with gadgets. I mean who here has been annoyed becuase the person they were talking to was texting?4. We now have more ways than ever to communicate but we are farther apart than we have ever been.So basically my question is, Do you think technology is good or bad for humans?
It's certainly not destroying human communication. In fact, in terms of breadth and scope, and in terms of the number of people an average person might communicate in the course of a day, it's increased human communication hugely. It is, however, causing a raid development in human communication. You note that we seldom seem to speak face to face anymore. That's certainly true, and yet how many more people per day do you think our ancestors spoke to face to face than we do today? As a percentage, surely a lot more, but in absolute numbers? I'd suggest about the same. We talk to more people, from much wider areas than our ancestors ever dreamed of. You note that people that we do talk to often are also using gadgets. I have been annoyed by this trend, but I think of it as a part of that evolution I mentioned before. We tend to multitask now, more than ever. I'm not sure that frenetic pace is a good thing, however. Finally, your draw a conclusion that we are now farther apart than ever before. I'm not sure I agree, and I don't see any evidence to support your conclusion directly. I have internet pen pals from all around the world, and in some ways, I think the ease of long range communication has brought us closer together than was ever possible before. I talk to people daily who have completely different takes upon world events, based on their culture and upbringing, and I think that variety of opinion is very enlightening. At any rate, we are having to evolve. Our modes of behavior, our traditions are changing, and while it styresses those of us who are comfortable with the old, traditional ways of doing things, in just a few short decades, most of us will be gone, and our children will be lamenting the changes they see.
Q: People who restore old machinery sometimes place rusty items in a large barrel of molasses, the syrup from cane sugar for several months. Explain why they do this?!
Molasses contain glucose, which just so happens to be what's called a 'reducing sugar', that is, it's got an aldehyde group as part of the molecule, and this can lets it act as a reducing agent. Rust, on the other hand, is a sign of iron being oxidised, and makes it difficult to use whatever tool it is that's been rusted. To combat this then, putting rusted tools in molasses for a while lets the glucose get to work reversing the oxidation process and effectively 'un-rusting' the iron, going some way to getting the items back to their former glory.

Q: I'm vacationing in Hong Kong and would love to bring home Japanese snack machineries such as Taiyaki makers, Takoyaki makers, Dorayaki makers, etc. It would be so nice to know if Hong Kong has vendors for these products. Thanks a lot!
Check the Electric Appliances Section of Jusco Department Stores in Hong Kong. There's a large Japanese community living in HK, Japanese food is one of Hongkongers' favorites. One never knows, the machine may be selling in the market there.
