- Q: Ok, here is the deal. I had worked at this lawn care place for 2 weeks and I fell off the back of a truck and injured my knee. I was out of work for just over 3 weeks. The day i came back with my Doctor's release, my supervisor told me that he didn't want me working there anymore, that he had already hired 2 people to replace me, and that he wasn't going to re-hire me.In addition to this, he told me that he believed I was lying about having been injured and he didn't want me to work there because I got injured and it would only just happen again sometime soon. He believes this because 4 years ago, in the middle if Iraq, I got thrown off of a vehicle and minorly hurt my knee, and my Doctor told him this, so he said that it wasn't like it was a real injury because i had hur it a couple years ago too. So, basicly, I got people saying that I have no standing to ask for workers comp and I got people telling me I should Sue them for accusing me of lying about my injuries and firing me.

- You can buy 1/2 PVC pipe and appropriate fittings to make a base of the desired size (the one I built was about 8' across and about 7' tall). I started by buiding a base from a piece of 1 x 12 lumber 8' long (for the base). I screwed a one gallon bucket to each end of this board. Next, I took a section of the PVC pipe with a tee on one end (to anchor the pipe in the plaster) and poured plaster of paris 1/2 way in each bucket (the pipe was laid in at an angle facing the opposite side-with the pipe touching the bottom outside edge of the bucket and the top of the pipe about an inch away from the top inside edge of the bucket). I allowed the plaster to set up, then I cut the exposed pipe to about 4 above the top of the bucket and glued a sleeve on the end of the pipe. Next, I took and assembled two pieces of pipe (I don't remember the actual dimension) to form the arch to the desired height (I just shoved the ends of the pipe into the open ends of the exposed sleeves - no glue). To transport, remove the arch (with balloons tied on) and carry as a separate piece with the base. It is much better if you tie the balloons on after you set up the arch. We have used it for years and it is easy for people to bring back to the store when they have finished with it.

- OH boy! I have seen this kind of jury rig job before! You will likely have to cut open the wall around the pipe to get to the leak. If it is galvanized pipe in the wall, you need to measure the outside diameter of the connection, (probably a tee) and go to your home center and get a Fernco connector. This is a black rubber connector with hose clamps on each end. You need one that will fit over the end of the fitting in the wall, and then you can tighten it with a screwdriver. Now you can go to PVC pipe and do whatever fittings needed to make it fit the sink drain.

- yes, they are usually done with pretty much the same thing as pvc cement. Some, use compression fittings. if there are nuts on the ends, it is probably compression fittings. easiest thing to do is cut the pipe close as possible to the fitting, then just install a new one. hopefully, there is enough slack in the pipes to allow you to do this.
