A Syrian hamster Shouldn't get stuck, but you never know. I perfer to use aquariums with wire lids. They work amazing. Or else get a plastic storage container (square bucket thing) and drill holes into the sides and roof. (don't put the holes to big or close together; cage may crack or hamster may get out).
