7. How to choose bathroom tiles? Porcelain tiles or glazed tiles?
Currently used in the bathroom tiles with glazed tiles (mainly from price considerations, some high-end can choose tiles, notice to choose tiles), divided into Shinny and Matt two kinds. Light color makes people feel shinny, but the bathroom more appropriate to create a warm feeling, so the best choose is uses matte, the shinny feels more soft and not dazzling.
- Q: I‘m gutting my bathroom and will be tiling the floor and then adding a new vanity and a new toilet. The question is, do you tile before you put in the toilet and new vanity or do you put in these items first and then tile around them? Concrete slab foundation that I‘m currently working on leveling.
- Definitely before. Its just the right way, and anyway you'd have to do a lot more intricate cuts to make it look right. Also, mark where the vanity will sit and just go a couple of inches underneath and you can save a few tiles. After Diy Doc's answer, let me add that if you finish and didn't break too many tiles cutting them and have the extras, by all means fill in under the vanity the next day if you want. I just didn't want you to run short. Thanks Doc
- Q: I am looking to tile my livingroom/kitchen area appx 500sf. I am going with porcelain due to the strength ( i was told its better). My question is for resal (4-5 years) what is a better tile to lay; polished tile or regular glaze. I like the shiny clear coat look the polished has but someone mentioned it picks up footprints and it is not good for resale. Also, I was thinking that If I went with a larger tile, 18X18 or larger that it would look much cleaner with less grout lines, but since its only an area of 500sf that it would make my place look smaller than it is?any suggestions are helpful. Thanks
- A high sheen tile is going to give you a more formal look. A matte finish will be more casual. If you place the tiles on a 45 degree angle, the space will appear larger, but it will require more cuts and a little more tile. If you use 18 tiles and keep them squared with the room shape, the room will appear smaller. I am not a fan of big grout lines unless you are using Saltillo (Mexican) tiles. If you have the option of coloring the grout I would try to match the tile as closely as possible, unless you want to call attention to the grout.
- Q: I am replacing a floor furnace and may need to replace some tiles. These are nominally size 11-1/2 x 11-1/2 x 1/2 inch. Thanks.

- Q: I‘m installing 13x13 floor tile on a slab. Any tips on how to do it right
- If your not overly familiar with doing tile a diagonal isn t the easiest to start on. Lay out and proper tools are a big help in your preplanning. Right size trowel and large enough wet saw and had cutter is a must. Get the longest straight site line and split the room in 1/2 with a chalk line. Lay tile back to the wall and figure the size of pc(pcs) you need. You can cut a few of these pcs as a starting point. Knowing you split the room you should be equal when you get to the other side. A perfect straight edge will help keep your lines straight. Use this on all sides as you build out from that wall and lay as though your doing a straight lay just that your on a 45 degree. Or if you are doing an open ended area , you can cut several tiles in 1/2 and work back. A bit trickier but overall look is better. Don t cut tiles directly in 1/2, you must cut just off center if this is a starting point. Very hard to do and takes experience. Any specific questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. GL
- Q: How to convert tiles how much money a square meter?
- 800 * 800 tiles, one hundred dollars a piece, 0.64 square, 100 ÷ 0.64 = 156.25 a square. 156 dollars a square of floor tiles, 156.25 * 0.64 = 100 dollars a piece.
- Q: Some red nail polish was spilled on my tile bathroom floor. What can I use to remove it? Nail polish remover would be an obvious choice, but it only removes the glob of polish and not the color. Any suggestions?

- YOu can paste them on the side of your doors and something like that.
- Q: What is the pattern of tile sales now?
- In short, it is a summary of sales channels and sales methods. When you have a better understanding of the market, and then their own plans to be adjusted and added. General write sales plan includes the following aspects: 1. Market analysis. Which is based on the understanding of the market situation, the product's selling point, consumer groups, sales and so on. 2. Sales method. Is to find suitable for their own product sales model and methods. 3. customer management. Is how to develop a customer and how to promote their sales or purchase; how to follow up on potential customers. I think this is very important, should be in the plan accounted for the main length. 4. Sales tasks. Is to set a reasonable sales tasks, the main purpose of sales is to improve sales tasks. Only the efforts to use a variety of methods to complete the established task, is the planned role. Finished, to sum up a good way and model, not complete, but also to sum up, there are still problems and difficulties. 5. Assessment time. The sales plan can be divided into annual sales plan, quarterly sales plan, monthly sales plan. Assessment of the time is not the same. Summary. Is on a time period sales plan to judge. The above six aspects are planned to have.
- Q: There are thousands of individual tiles. If one falls off or something like that does everything burn up? thanks and how did the heat shield not work for the shuttle in 2003? it might have been in 2001 i have to ask my science teacher
- It depends on where the tile is, and when it comes off. In the case of the Columbia accident in 2003, it actually wasn't the tiles--it was one of the carbon-carbon panels on the leading edge of the wing that got hit by a briefcase-sized hunk of insulation off the external tank, and got a hole blown in it. During reentry, the hole allowed hot gasses to enter the structure of the left wing. The heat caused the aluminum used in making the wing to weaken and fail. There are two kinds of tiles used, in addition to the carbon-carbon panels on the leading edge of the wing and the nose. The black tiles that you see on the underside and coming up the side of the fuselage are for areas of greater heating, while the white tiles protect areas where there is less heating. Losing a tile has two possible problems. If the tile is directly over a critical area (say a hydraulic line), you may get burn through and cause the line or whatever to fail. Popping off a tile also changes the way that air flows around the shuttle. It's possible that the turbulence from one missing tile can cause others to come off in what is called the zipper effect. The more tiles you lose, the greater the chance that you're going to lose a critical tile. Also, if you lose enough of them, it's possible that the shuttle might become aerodynamically unstable, and impossible to control. I don't recall any of the flights having a problem with burn through even though tiles have been lost or damaged on just about every flight
