Q: the piercing i want is the double cartilage. people call them different things, but the most common (i guess) is scaffold. my uncle said that after its in your ear a long time the weight from the bar weighs down your ear and the cartilage gets weak and kinda is like bent. has this happend to anyone? or is he lying? cam it happen?: The barbell is very light and hollow, so I doubt that'll happen. Perhaps in rare cases where the piercing has already damaged the cartilage somehow. Cartilage is strong enough to hold up an industrial barbell. Your uncle might be trying to scare you if he doesn't approve of you getting an industrial, but don't ignore him completely since he's just trying to watch out for you.

I know because it's a double cartilage piercing, it is likely to take longer to heal and such, but I was just wondering if there was an average time before it goes back to normal?: Mine took about a week, but only the first 4/5 days were really bad. Taking something with ibuprofen or anything meant for swelling or an anti-inflammatory should help :) Don't try ice though, that just made it worse for mine.

(that last part would be really loud and right in his face, probably with a finger poke in the chest) then when they don't remove it be prepared with wrenches and a pick up truck to remove it before their return in the morning - stashing it out of sight but on the property when they question you about the missing scaffolding you can offer to rent one to them that was abandoned in your driveway for $500.00 dollars a day (she would smile her prettiest smile when she said this) be prepared for a fuss - but they had their chance - stand your ground that's how mom rolls - she plays for keeps - not many cross her - when they do they quickly regret it - she would have it in small pieces in front of their eyes, but she suggests the first description for you - mom is tough but incredibly fair - the rules are the rules for a reason whether you like it or not, or anybody else for that matter

I play soccer Track and my coach said they would let me play soccer as long as I covered it up, but I was just wondering if I get hit or something if it would damage my ear really badly? :) Thanks lt;3: I got my industrial (scaffold) at 15 and I played soccer and I was hit quite a few times but it's 3 years later and it's healed perfectly. I was also in my high school's color guard and my piercing was smack with a rifle and it bled for an entire day, which was probably the worst injury my industrial ever received. It prolonged the healing but it didn't ruin anything. You'll always run a chance of bad damage with piercings and sports but if you take care of it, you'll be okay. And be careful! Good luck!

Q: I got it done MONTHS ago and the bar is so tight on it,i have space in it, like i can move the bar up and down..just i cant get it out and its beginning to hurt me if i sleep on the side its on.. advice please?: Try wearing latex gloves (if you aren't allergic to latex.) This can hep you get a grip on the ends. You can go to your piercer and they will help you take it out. If you don't want to lose the piercing altogether, you can ask them to put small rings in it. This should ease and pressure and discomfort you are having.
