- It shouldn't hurt your laptop to leave it plugged in. When turned off, most laptops will check their battery's charge. If it is below 100%, the laptop will continue charging. Once it is fully charged (or if it was already at 100%), it will just cut off the power flow. I leave my laptop plugged in nearly 24/7, and it has never caused any harm.

- I'd say a laptop is the best way to go. I have both a desktop and laptop, and I NEVER use the desktop. Having a laptop boots up way faster and easier to manage. With the desktop, you have to deal with all the wires, and the laptop, you just turn it on. It doesn't matter what kind of laptop you get as long as you feel it suits you.
