Product description

The Solar System[a] is the gravitationally bound system comprising the Sun and the objects that orbit it, either directly or indirectly.[b] Of those objects that orbit the Sun directly, the largest eight are the planets,[c] with the remainder being significantly smaller objects, such asdwarf planets and small Solar System bodies. Of the objects that orbit the Sun indirectly, themoons, two are larger than the smallest planet, Mercury.

The Solar System formed 4.6 billion years ago from the gravitational collapse of a giant interstellar molecular cloud. The vast majority of the system's mass is in the Sun, with most of the remaining mass contained in Jupiter. The four smaller inner planets, Mercury, Venus, Earthand Mars, are terrestrial planets, being primarily composed of rock and metal. The four outer planets are giant planets, being substantially more massive than the terrestrials.

Q:How much per sq inch do they cost? Will i have to worry about them blowing off during hurricane season? If the sun isnt out for a week will my power go out? Will I have to check them every week and check which ones arent working and replace them? Is there anyway for them to be damaged by acid rain or any type of erosion like hail? When do I have to replace them? How do I dispose of old ones (like recycling)? What is smarter and more economical having few big panels or many small ones? I know I have alot of questions but I want a good detailed answer.
The cost of solar is measured in dollars per watt. That means the cost of a cell that can make one watt continuously in full sunlight. A friend of mine is starting a new job to set up a new solar cell factory and he said the present cost is $3 per watt, but that they expect to get that down to $ per watt in a few years. They can be damaged by weather, just like any regular roof. My insurance agent asked if I had solar panels, so it is a factor in insurance cost. I never heard of recycling or disposing of old panels, maybe because they are so new and last so long that not many are ready to be disposed of yet.
Q:A local air conditioning company is advertising combining their (newly installed) central air conditioning system for homes, with roof solar panels. They say that the combination MAY reduce your electric bill. Nothing I can see to back-up their claims. Hmmmmm. And they offer, if you can get it; central air conditioning that runs on natural gas. Again, possibly cheaper than using electricity.Has any one actually tested to find out if solar panels and/or natural gas DOES, or DOES NOT save you any money to make it worth the bother?
Don't do it! It takes years to get your money back. Your better to put the money into insulation and or buying geo thermal unit. I knew someone who install solar panels on his roof to generate hydro and he didn't notice much of a change on his hydro bill and then he had roof problems . Central air units in last 2 years have become very efficient . Almost half the hydro of ones 0 years ago. If you can afford buy a geo thermal unit. It uses the heat of the ground in the winter 2 heat your house during the winter and the coolness of the ground to cool your house. They aren't cheap though. If you plan on living in your house for more than 0 years and have the room in the yard to install then go for it. No how you slice it though AC units use way more hydro than solar panels can produce. You would need about half a football field with a huge battery storage system to run a AC unit. When a company states you might on hydro I would stay away. Also remember they do not tell you about the costs of the upkeep on the solar panels and converter and batteries
Q:Can solar panels be used to power a film set?
Yes, solar panels can be used to power a film set. By harnessing the sun's energy and converting it into electricity, solar panels can provide a sustainable and renewable source of power for various film production needs, such as lighting, cameras, and equipment. This not only reduces the carbon footprint of the film production but also saves costs on traditional energy sources.
Q:How long does it take to install solar panels?
The installation time of solar panels can vary depending on various factors such as the size of the system, complexity of the installation, and the availability of resources. On average, a residential solar panel installation can take anywhere between one to three days. However, larger or more intricate installations may require a longer timeframe. It is best to consult with a professional solar installer to get a more accurate estimate based on your specific requirements.
Q:Can solar panels be used for powering outdoor recreational vehicles?
Yes, solar panels can be used for powering outdoor recreational vehicles. They provide a renewable and sustainable source of energy that can charge the batteries of RVs, campers, and other outdoor vehicles. Solar panels can generate electricity during daylight hours, allowing for off-grid power supply and reducing the reliance on traditional fuel sources.
Q:Can solar panels be used in areas prone to hurricanes?
Yes, solar panels can be used in areas prone to hurricanes. However, it is important to ensure that the panels are properly installed and designed to withstand high wind speeds. Reinforcements, such as additional framing or anchoring systems, can be used to make the panels more resilient to hurricane conditions. Additionally, regular maintenance and inspections are necessary to ensure their stability and functionality.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on bridges or highways?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on bridges or highways. This is known as solar roadways or solar bridges. These panels can generate electricity by harnessing sunlight and can be integrated into the surface of bridges or highways. However, the feasibility and practicality of such installations may vary depending on factors like structural considerations, cost, maintenance, and local regulations.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on concert venues or music festivals?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on concert venues or music festivals. In fact, many venues and festivals are now embracing renewable energy solutions like solar panels to reduce their carbon footprint and promote sustainability. Solar panels can be installed on rooftops, parking lots, or open spaces, providing a clean and renewable source of energy to power stages, lighting, and other electrical needs. This not only helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but also showcases a commitment to environmental responsibility in the entertainment industry.
Q:What about sources for straight forward solar powered products? Excluding toys, garden frogs and outdoorpath lights I have found few useful items for the home. What I have found are solar panels for under $00 each, inverters, rechargeable indoor lights and a few camping/RV products that are interesting. It seems to me that these could help me start to wean the family off the power company. I can't afford to go cold turkey and cover my roof with solar panels and I don't think the HOA would allow me to even if I could. Is anyone using solar on a small scale?
I have an active solar heater on my roof. During the winter it comes in handy and heats the house, though we still need to use a gas heater to get the temperature up to a comfortable level.
Q:How about using Solar Panals to provide the electrical power to separate the H2 from the O? H2 would be fed into the engines carburator like a gas/air mixture ratio, but H2/air mixture ratio instead. How would you control the exact measurements?
Currently solar panels are rated at about 5 percent efficiency. That means that about 85 percent of the solar energy that is falling on it, is wasted. Electrolysis is also about 67 percent efficient. So the TOTAL amount of solar energy you would have converted into hydrogen is 67 percent of 5 percent. Using my calculator that comes out to: about 0 percent total efficiency. About 90 percent of your solar energy gets wasted in the process. A better alternative to solar panels would be solar powered sterling generators. Sterling engines are EXTERNAL COMBUSTION engines, like the old fashioned steam engine, and can be run off any heat source - including the sun. Heat from the sun is focused using parabolic mirrors, and the efficiency of a sterling engine / generator combination is rated at about 30 percent. Your TOTAL efficiency - both solar sterling and electrolysis combined - would be around 20 percent. If you are dead set on using hydrogen? Even though there are better alternatives? Such as alcohol? Then I would suggest storing it in titanium dioxide pellets. This way you can store the hydrogen, without it being in danger of exploding. You can ALSO ram a hydrogen container like this into a solid brick wall. Once again? Without fear of an explosion. Numerous studies have been conducted on this. As for controlling the exact measurements? Nothing in the air-fuel ratio of a car - - or the timing - which you are also going to have to change - needs to be exact. A good enough approximation will do. As for how you get your measurements? You need to compare the density of gasoline vapor with hydrogen gas. A comparison of the molecular weight of gasoline - - as compared to the molecular weight of hydrogen - should get you started in the right direction for this.
