- Q: Hello, I need to somehow connect a 1-72 (really small) brass threaded rod to a 1/8'' alumina rodIs there a certain coupler or connecting shaft that would help me accomplish this?
- I do not know of any off the shelf hardware You can always make an engineering drawing and have a machine shop quote you a price ButBefore you get too far in this, I suggest you very carefully consider exactly what you need this connection to doExactly what are the requirements? Will there be simple tensile or compressive stress on this connection? How about side loads? How about impact loads? Will there be vibration? Is thermal conductivity a concern? How about coefficient of thermal expansion? How long does this connection need to survive? What are the consequences if this connection fails in service? Is brass the best material for the screw? Is alumina the best material for the rod? What type of alumina are you using? This is, after all, EngineeringI suggest you do someYou can buy machinable ceramic that has properties similar to alumina ceramics (of course there are many different types of ceramics available in the form of rods).
- Q: ok so i really want to tell my mom i want to use tampons because i hate pads but i do not know how or when i should do it do any of you have any advise i really need itI also want to know if it is ok for me to use them i have had my period 6 times already.
- You can add browned and seasoned ground beef to tomato sauce, flavored with oregano and basil and serve over pastaYou can make stuffed peppersAdd seasoning, diced onions and par-cooked rice to the raw ground beef, stuff some bell peppers with the mixture, then cook in tomato sauce (the peppers and meat will flavor it as it cooks) for about an hour or an hour and a halfTacos are another good ideaAnd you can do a makeshift sheppard's pieBrown the ground beef with some diced onions, add in some beef stock and thicken it with corn starch/water, mix with peas and carrotsPlace in a cassarole dish and top with mashed potatoesBake until the potatoes get golden brown on top.
- Q: I have a cabin, about 800 square feet that I have to move into for nowIt has to be weatherized, and have electricityMy questions are:Is there special insulation that is quot;energy efficientquot; ?What should I use for electricity? (The cabin has no electricity)Im thinking wood stove for heating, does that sound feasible? Solar panels? Wind turbines? which is best for me? Im looking to power a computer, some lights, a washing machine, and a dryer (I will hang dry them in the warmer times of the year) I need to be able to lower as much as I can for costsHow can I purify the water? It has a well, I've heard about salt water purification systems being good? Please help me Im being forced to move into my old family cabin and have nowhere else to go.
- Two days is a short period of timeIf you have the time then you can get the outline of duckYes Duck, that is what I made with my block of wood, but you need the tools and several hours to do one.
- Q: When I was walking around my attic to get to Christmas stuff, I had to cross a part of the insulation (new house, only like 3 years old) and my lighter in my jacket pocket fell out into the insulation while I hopped over somethingI looked for it, but I couldn't find it.I am pretty OCD about fire hazards and what not, but is there ANY chance that the lighter could cause a fire? I read that insulation (at least with newer houses) is flame retardantI actually tested that out with some of the insulation that I took to my garage and the insulation melted slightly but the flame went out almost immediately. This is more OCD reassurance than anything elseSo to calm this, what is the chance percentage-wise of anything catching fire? Also, should I continue to look for the lighter, or just let it be? I've already looked extensively with gloves, long clothes etc.Sorry for being so OCD about this, but it just bugs meThanks so much in advance!
- it would be best to look again and remove the lighter from the attic I would search with a good flashlight while it is dark outside so you are not distracted by daylite refractions It does not sound safe to leave the lighter in an attic as the heat build up during the summer can reach close to 120degrees please look some more .
- Q: Does it cost a lot to knit?
- Faith by George Michael
- Q: We have a Great Dane and a Terrier Mix.
- use straightners without them pluged in no heat Or get something really heavy like a pile of books and put them on to getstraight.
- Q: Is it for mosture?
- Just spray your baking sheet with a very light coating of PamIf the strawberries are going to be placed on a cake, there is no need to do anything moreIf you are going to serve them on their own, once you remove them from the baking sheet after they are set, dip the bottoms in either pure sifted cocoa powder (not the cocoa mix for making hot chocolate) or sifted confectioners sugar to absorb the remaining Pam if there is anyGood Luck, hope this helps.
- Q: This question was raised by MIKU HAUONE I felt the answer by LJC was the best answerIn my situation I have discovered there is no insulation in the wall, just around the heat registers and in the atticThe house was built in the 1950s, we thought it was insulatedI don’t think this happened last winterTwo things different, a humidifier that works (mounted on the furnace), we painted the exteriorI don’t believe there is a vapor barrier etherThe roof was new 3 years ago and no signs of a leak, vented at the eves, ridge and has three roof ventsIn the basement all the wall stud spaces have insulation stuffed up into them resting on the sillThe one wall I washed with soap and water, removing the mold and drying itIt has remained dryAnother factor is, we live in southwest MI and we’ve had a bad rain storm and several bad snow stormsThe house is 35’ long and 24’ wide the long side faces north on the front and south on the backSo, any other ideas?
- You say that there is no insulation in that wallFeel itIt is probably really coldThis is where the warm moist air on the inside of the house will condenseIt is amazing how much water can come out of a persons breathI noticed the same thing in my bedroom closetIt got worse when I switched away from incandescent bulbsYou might want to get a closet dehumidifierI like the convenience of theseThe one that comes with a hanger is great for the spot on the rack right next to the wall that seems to get dampSmall investment for saving a ruined jacket.
- Q: Hey all,Back to true questions LOLAnyway, My horse is currently at a horse show in an outdoor stallThe barn trailered her out there for me as school is more important right now (As I was told by my mother) xD So from my understanding they trailered her late morning, early afternoonI will not be able to make it out to the show until 5:30-6ishIt is going to rain (I can hear the thunder as I type) and I'm worried about her being naked in a stallCanada is not known for having warm rain until summer so if it is cold rain im a little worried :/Will she be ok until I get there? She has been turned out naked the past few days so thats how they shipped her. Thanks so much, feel free to ask questions if you need verifying )
