Q: Especially the pointy thing at the top..what's up with that?: I find the lint rollers don't work very well on any kind of dog hair. I use an actual lint brush which is almost like velcro. When you brush it one way, it picks up the hair, and when you brush it the other way, the hair comes off. (That's how you clean them). They usually come with a handle which can be reversed. I use mine to get black, white and beige dog hair off a light grey carpet, and it works really well. Some of your puppy's hair may also be imbedded in the couch if it has been there for some time, and people leaning against it, but you may notice a difference if you try one of these brushes. They cost around $5.00 - $6.00. I also use mine to get the hair off our clothes, and the bedspreads. Good luck.

If you really don't want anything like that in your water system then go with the various plastic solutions and clamp-on fittings. That way you won't have any issues with lead. It is also simpler to do and will likely be less expensive than copper pipes.

Q: Ok, so at night, I'm in constant fear the smoke detector will go off. No clue why. How can I get rid of it?: I don't know much about gluing PVC but from the pictures it seems to be a fairly poor mechanical design. It's basically a crank with two pedals (maybe for use with hands as well as feet), right?. The crank seems to be made out of pipe sections and 90 degree elbows with nothing actually making it rigid except for the glue, so all the loads will be going through the glue. A swimming pool is a fairly harsh chemical environment because of the additives to the water, and rehab pools tend to be more heavily treated than normal pools because of the increased likelihood of people with infections using them. That might affect what glues are suitable. I would be inclined to think about putting some pins or dowels through the joints, so there is positive location of the parts preventing them trying to move around, and the dowels will carry the shear loads and torque from one part to the next. The pins could just be thin PVC rods (say 1/4 or 1/2 inch diameter) through suitable sized drilled holes. If the PVC is generally strong enough to take the loads (before the first failure ocurred) then you don't need metal pins. The main function of the glue would then be just to stop the thing falling apart, not to carry the loads. It's not clear whether you are need take the thing apart or not, so apologies if that advice is impractical.

Fire her right away. If she starts to be honest. Tell her you can give her a warning. But if she does anything like that again. She would be terminated right away without questions. Ask her to sign an agreement saying she wont do it again. Its a pretty major issue i wont lie. I would have a hard time trusting her again if she did that. Once you lose someones trust in that way. Its hard to get it back.
