Q:Can solar panels be installed on metal roofs?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on metal roofs. In fact, metal roofs are considered to be an ideal surface for solar panel installation due to their durability and compatibility with the mounting systems used for solar panels. Metal roofs provide a sturdy and stable foundation for the panels, making the installation process easier and more secure.
Q:I have tried researching on the internet and just cant find any real answer. I know that the amount of electricity produced when taking in the suns rays depends on the placement of the solar panels but I am just looking for ball park figures. Thanks
call your power company and ask them how much they pay for each kWh you feed back into the grid (the price may vary for different times of the day). then multiply that by however much electricity you are producing.
Q:What is the cost of installing solar panels?
The cost of installing solar panels can vary depending on various factors such as the size of the installation, location, type of panels, and additional equipment needed. On average, a residential solar panel system can cost anywhere between $10,000 to $30,000 or more. However, it's important to note that there may be potential tax incentives, rebates, and financing options available, which can help offset the upfront costs and make solar panel installations more affordable.
Q:Can solar panels be used to power electric vehicles?
Yes, solar panels can be used to power electric vehicles. Solar panels can convert sunlight into electricity, which can then be stored in a battery and used to power an electric vehicle. This helps reduce dependence on fossil fuels and promotes sustainable transportation.
Q:i already have solar/gas water heating, but was wondering if getting solar panels for electricity installed was a good idea.
Why of course. Just buying them is the big buzz. Companies are doing thousands if not millions of dollars a month only by selling Solar Panel. I did a little search and I found that it costs 7000$ to install solar panels for an average roof. If you're a hardcore green, then Bon Appétit, I'm not preventing you to buy it. All I'm just saying is that it'll take months if not years to get that money back. It is good for electricity, and I saw it worked on a company building called Better Place, so save the world!
Q:How do solar panels impact the local economy?
Solar panels can have a positive impact on the local economy in several ways. Firstly, the installation and maintenance of solar panels create jobs, stimulating employment opportunities. Additionally, solar energy reduces the dependence on fossil fuels, thereby decreasing energy costs and increasing savings for businesses and households. This can lead to more disposable income, which can be spent locally, contributing to economic growth. Moreover, solar energy projects attract investments and promote the growth of renewable energy industries, further boosting the local economy.
Q:I am interested in solar energy, but am not sure how eficiant it would be in the northwest? Any comments would be apriciated.
Are solar panels a good thing to do for the environment? - Yes. Can you recoup the cost your investment in the solar cells/panels in any reasonable amount of time in Seattle? - most likely - not. I know it's been a miserable spring in Seattle, but, I think we got 3 sunny days last month. With the number of cloudy/rainy days here, solar will only really benefit you in June, July, August and September. There are two kinds of solar panels - electric or water based. The electrics - photovoltaics - are costly to purchase and it's difficult to store the electricity once you make it. A water heater type solar panel initially cost less and can provide some benefit even on partly cloudy days. I have even seen instructions on how to build your own (if you are frugal and handy) I just do not think it's worthwhile in Seattle - if it was Denver or Phoenix we were talking about - then it would be a different story.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on a garage or carport?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a garage or carport. In fact, these structures often provide ideal locations for solar panel installations, as they typically have sufficient space and exposure to sunlight. Adding solar panels to a garage or carport can help generate clean energy, reduce electricity bills, and provide shade or shelter for vehicles or outdoor activities.
Q:Solar panels do good more then bad?
Sure your proper, sunlight panels (photovoltics) could be used to make electricity for small electronics. Proper now sun cells are on many calculators, and even flashlight. However the trouble is the lenght of time the cells take to charge the gadget, verses the vigour demand. I don;t consider the scale of the panels, and the period of time needed to charge the device are sensible. One think i've been thinking is that all should have a photovoltaic panel to charge a battery. Then, use the battery to cost phone telephones, MP3 palyers. The panel and the battery would be in regards to the 8 x eleven inches, and could sit down in window, or on a dash board to get charged, then utilized in doorways over night to charge contraptions.
Q:Ok so my electric bill is through the roof because of the air conditioner (mini-split). Is there any kinds solar panel I can buy at a store and install it myself? Do I need any skills? Which brand? blah...blah...blah...
You can attempt to install your own solar panels...just do the homework first! I suggest looking at ways to decrease your overall energy consumption first even if installing solar panels. Doing this will save on the amount of panels you need. Have included a reference that may be of use to you.
