- Q: I want a 48" bathroom vanity, I NEED it to have the drawers on the left hand side, and I need it to be $250 or less. Hopefully much less. I have a sink and I have countertop.I've found that 48" vanities are rare, and the ones out there are usually ridiculously fancy and overpriced. It's nearly impossible to find ANY vanities with drawers on the left, and if I can find any they are either smaller than 48" or ridiculously fancy and overpriced. So I thought about getting a 24" kitchen base cabinet and a 24" kitchen drawer base cabinet and putting them together to make a 48" sink base. Are there any drawbacks to this?
- I think it's a great idea unless you're not very tall. Typically kitchen counters are about 36' high depending on what the top is made of, and bathroom counters are 30' high. There are tall people who complain that their bathroom sinks are too low, so they should listen to your idea! If you're thinking about installing a 'vessel' type sink, the kind that sits on top of the counter like a bowl, you might not want to do that since the higher counter might make the sink too high. Good idea! Good luck!
- Q: Ok, the bottom cabinets (vanity) is 60" wide and the the sink or vanity top is 61" wide dual bowl cultured marble. The vanity and vanity top in question is my profile pic or avatar and I had a house fire and now I have to find this sink and cabinets to have it replaced. Except I bought it from a private seller and now I don't have any idea who makes it or where I can find it and I've been looking for days and I'm going a little crazy. Any help would be so awesome and you would be awesome. Thanks
- look for it in OKorder
- Q: I would like a 60 inch vanity in my bathroom but I worry about negotiating stairs and turning corners with a vanity of that size. Should I order two 30 inchers or do the 60 inch vanities come broken down.
- Make a cardboard box that size and try it.
- Q: L = 60 3/8 W = 22OFF CENTER OVAL BOWLFrom left side to center of bowl = 13 3/8Home Depot and Lowes have 60-inch and 61-inch length vanity tops, but the bowls are all centered. Anyone know of a really fast special order company? Or, a place where they come in stock where we could get close to the dimensions above?
- Most special order tops will have 2-6 week lead times. Your best bet is to check locally for cultured marble companies...check with some local counter top vendors & inquire where you can get a custom vanity top made. Good luck...
- Q: Hello,We are redoing parts of our 2 bathrooms. We are replacing the flooring, the toilet, and the vanity, however we are not doing anything with the showers/tubs. From what I've read you should do the flooring before you do the toilet, but wouldn't you want to do the vanity before you do the flooring? We will most likely be having a professional do the vanity and toilet, however we plan on doing the flooring ourselves. So would we have to have the professional do the vanities, then we do the flooring, then have them come back another day to do the toilets? Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
- If you are putting in a wood cabinet type vanity, you could do it before the floor. If you're doing a pedestal sink, you have to do the floor first. Some modern vanities have 'furniture style' base cabinets, also have to sit on top of a finished floor. So pick your vanity first, then you'll know if the floor has to go in first. The toilet has to sit on top of what ever flooring you have, it must go LAST. Replacing a vanity is easier than tiling a floor. In depends on the sink installation. I'd do that in a heartbeat on my own. Tile - not so much. I don't own or want to rent a wet saw to cut tile. I can imagine spending as much as it cost to hire someone. But if you've done tile before, go for it. I've removed and installed new bath fixtures. Removing was more trouble than the install (curses to Moen!) Faucets and drains were surprisingly easy.
- Q: I am trying to remove a 'generic' type of dual sink vanity installed when the home was built. I see no screws securing it to the wall. Could it just be sitting there, caulked in place? I was hoping to keep it intact to use as a workbench, but if I have to start breaking it up, that's okay too :)
- I am sorry to say you may have to start breaking it up. Most vanities are affixed with lots of caulking. be careful because some also will have screws hidden in the back and if you hit them you may hurt your wall. Good luck and be careful - when you hit porcelain it shatters and small shard will fly!
- Q: My wife and I are building a new bathroom and my wife wants to place our new vanity against the shower glass wall. I say leave a few inches between the shower and the wood vanity so that air is not trapped causing mold and mildew problems. What are your thoughts?
- Not only that but if it is wood and moisture gets into that it will swell and rot. You don't say how big your bathroom is going to be. I would look at new constrution homes to see what kind of set up they have before I would do anything.
- Q: How to identify oak bathroom cabinets
- Most of the solid wood with woody, pine wood flavor, camphor wood has obvious camphor, but the fiberboard, MDF will have a strong irritating smell, especially in the door or drawer; but many unscrupulous businessmen will With the industrial flavor of the poor processing of timber, so consumers must seriously ask and view their related issues and circumstances.
- Q: Most retail prices for small vanities are extremely expensive. I am looking for furniture with maple finish. Thanks.
- Twenty two years ago, before it was even popular like it is today, I used an antique piece of furniture, cut a hole in the top, dropped in a scalloped porcelain sink , and transformed it into a working sink/vanity in my downstairs bathroom. And, the oak furniture piece cost only $165.00. Yes, I had to retrofit the drawers so they could still be used, but the end result is well worth my efforts. The style of the furniture is curved in front with a harp on the back for hanging towels, like an old fashioned wash sink to match my victorian bath. But you can use any other style to fit your decor. I refinished the vanity with Minwax Antique Oil Rub. The oil absorbs into the wood and is waterproof. You may be tempted to finish the wood with polyurethane and although it is waterproof, it will eventually end up getting scratched and begin to lift which will result in more maintenance that you may want to dedicate to the vanity. Whereas the oil soaks into the wood, not coating the surface like the poly. And the finish is hand rubbed, leaving a wonderful patina look to the wood. May I suggest that you skip the bathroom showrooms and go directly to the flea markets, consignment shops, antique shops and the like? You may be surprised what you can find if you have the time to shop, because if you have more time than money, you are sure to find something that will work for your application. This may not be the answer you were looking for, however, please at least consider the possibilities.
- Q: The price is moderate, not too cheap on OKorder but feel good
- My home improvement is the store, loaded up to the effect of good, keel angle than our local good N grades, the local accessories are rubbish, that is, when the time is really lost by the logistics gas, said good three Day delivery, six days to. But can buy a good move, think about the heart will be more comfortable!
