- Parking lights: Amber in front, Red in rear Turn Signal lights: Amber in front, Amber or Red in rear Tail Lights: Red Brake lights: Red 1156 bulbs are single filament while 1157 ones are dual filament. Your Tail Lights will be 1157's, since they also act as your brake lights. Some cars also use 1157 bulbs in the front turn signals, using the second filament for the front parking lights. Your Reverse Lights MUST be clear. A few years ago, I was stopped by a local police officer for having green bulb covers on the rear turn signals and blue ones on my reverse lights. He was nice enough to show me in his traffic handbook the lighting color rules and let me go since I fixed it on the spot. If you do get stopped for wrong-colored lights, be polite and offer to correct the problem right then if you can. Doing that saved me from 2 tickets that night.

Does anyone know where I can find a good LED 12 volt tail light/brake light that is DOT approved and not to expencive?I'm planing on fitting it to a bracket on my rear rack that is originally for a bicycle reflector so I want a flat square shaped tail light that's 3 to 4 inches wide. I can work with bigger if I have to but 5 inches is as big as I'd be willing to go so it's not blocking the turn signals. Online it seems almost impossible to tell if a tail light is DOT approved or not unless they say which usualy they don't.
- DOT is for legal to sell. For using what matters if the you get enough light. You can use motorcycle lights, car lights, trailer lights....
- Q: I have a 20 inch mirror ball and have 4 spot lights pointing at it, however the lights are lighting up the room to much.....suggestions?
- The lights should put out a narrow cone of light, and they should just cover the mirror ball. Also, one light on each side of the mirror ball should be enough. Personally, I just shoot low-powered lasers at it....
