- Nope, only in UV light. Im actually getting one in about a month (yay!). Theyer super awesome to have. And, while some in the past have been proven to be toxic, as long as your artist used Crazy Chemelion ink, it will be fine and not cause any side effects. It has been fully approved and everything, and proven to not be toxic at all. If you want, just go and google it, and check out their web page, its got all the info you need. Also, just a heads up, they itch a lot more than regular ink and also scab/flake a lot more too.
- Q: I have a foyer light that works from 3 different light switches. One of the light switches I never use to turn on the foyer light, is there a way I could use this switch to power a new sconce (wall) light? - In order to add a light from that switch location would either require the presence of the circuit power feed (hot and neutral) at that location if you want a separately controlled light or the common switch leg (switch leg to foyer light and neutral) if you want the light to be controlled with the foyer light. Considering that you have three switches controlling a foyer light, I would assume that you have a split level entry. If that is the case, you cannot legally re-purpose the existing light switch for a different function since code requires that lights in a stairway be controlled by all points of entry into the stairway. To meet code, the sconce light would either need to be controlled by a completely separate switch (which could be installed at the same location as the existing switch depending on configuration) or be controlled with the foyer light.

- You are exactly right - that's what a modeling light is for. Usually the modeling light power can be linked to the flash power. This allows you set the proper lighting ratios with multiple flash units. For example, if you set up a key light and a fill light, and you want a 3:1 ratio: you use the modeling lights to visually estimate how much light to use. That way you know how high to set the power without having to do it mathematically or wasting fifty or sixty shots trying to figure it out. The modeling lights themselves will turn off for a second when the flash fires.

- Depending on what corals you have, you may need around 2-4 watts per gallon. So 40-80 watts should be ok. 6500 k refers to Kelvin and is a color temperature, not a brightness measure. I don't have any LED lighting on my tanks (I use T5s), but I hope this helps!
- Q: I have a 8 inch arowana.. what do they prefer? lights on or off?
- Lighting is a key area in order to highlight your arowana in its full glory. Good lighting accentuates the colors of your arowana. Red or pinkish lighting is normally preferred as it brings out the redness of the arowana better. Try to avoid too strong lighting for an arowana setup as it would encourage algae growth. A simple fluorescent light would suffice for most arowana tank setups. Artificial light in aquariums is usually for us to view the fish, if they receive a natural light source (not direct sunlight) then they know that its day or night. If you have artificial light because of plants then it is necessary to try reproducing the plants natural light spectrum to stimulate growth. Fish are aware of movement outside of the tank, if you can, position the tank in an area of the house where there is the least amount of people traffic. Having the light on directly above the tank also reduces the amount of visibility the fish have through the glass, this would depend on the amount of light that is available in the room the aquarium is in. - Q: I want to know if a UV light is the same as a Flood light, so i can use for my turtles to bask. I sent my dad out to buy a UV light and he bought a flood light and claims its similar.
- A flood light is differnet to a UV light. A flood light dosen't produce the correct wavelinght of light and will be no good for your turtle or plants. A UV light will produce shortwave light as well as the longer wavelength require for good plant and animal health. A flood light will only produce longer wavelenghts. Thats why they look a little orange when compaired to the UV light which will look blue/violet in comparison. Your dad went cheap on you dude
