I have replaced some galv. pipe that didn't last very long (about 6-8 months) . The supply house had gotten a batch that was from Mexico they replaced the bad stuff and I had to eat the labor but I kept my customer happy . The China pipe is worse about the galv. coating being to thin or of ?? quality (it too doesn't last very long) I have seen the welded seams not welded . The cost of copper has gotten ridiculess and so I now use Aqua PEX or Dura PEX for most of my water lines. I suspect this plumber may have lost a customer over this as you are asking .

Q:Do you guys think this trio is enough to beat The Shield?: City or State code plays a factor here. Flexible K copper is not cheap plus some states require the line to be 8 feet deep. If you have old black pipe or galvanized pipe, yes you should replace the whole thing. If you can have it 3 feet deep then you can do this your self and pay a plumber to hook it up. Save big bucks. Contact your City on there requirements. Plumbing store for the copper. Rental store for a ditch witch to dig a trench. Plumber to tie in all of your fittings and to the meter. Under ground requires a flaired fitting to connect the copper lines. But for a plumber to do the job for under $36.00 per foot seems like a great price to me. It would be a great deal more here in Ohio.

Any thoughts.: (1) enough strength well if you want more water to go though the pipe, you can increase the pressure, thus if the pipe is to thin it will break (2) a large cross-sectional area. well if you want more water another way is to increase the pipe size (3) enough length to conduct the flow not sure what they are asking on this one but i guess if you have 2 inches of pipe it really doesn't do much does it. (4) a sufficient drop. the drop means water pressure, greater the pressure the more water will flow.
