- Q: Okay, I got into this discussion with my roommate debating which of these genres is better. He says he thinks bands like Slipknot and Korn are better because they have a more aggressive stage presence and deep meaningful lyrics. I'm not saying they suck, I'm just saying that I believe that old metal bands are far better than new metal.I will agree with him that there are some pretty good guitarists in those kinds of bands, but with lyrics like I will eat your heart then wear it as a hat I have a hard time comprehending with that. I told him that it was because of bands like Led Zeppelin, ACDC, Aerosmith, and Van Halen that these new metal bands exist. Bands like Slipknot may be good in the musical talent sense, but they'll never be as big or as iconic as Led Zeppelin. Plus, I know for a fact that these guys wouldn't come as close as good as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, or Eddie Van Halen. So what do you guys think? Winner Gets 10 points!!!!!

- Q: I really dont get it . I have listened to a lot of metal songs . That really confuses me . Is it the type of music that makes it black metal or the lyrics ???If its the lyrics that makes it black metal then why HELLS BELLS-AC/DC is not labeled as black metal and why MAHA KALI-BEHEMOTH is labeled as black metal(maha kali is an indian goddess who kills asuras and evils , so i dont think its evil to be labeled as black metal)If its the type of music that makes it black metal then why FREEZING MOON-MAYHEM(regarded as one the greatest black metal songs) is labeled as black metal . There are no screams in this song . Again there are many satanic songs by VENOM which are not labeled as black metal . Please help me out. . . . .
- Metal and rap often fight as to which is a more talented genre of music. I dont like rap in the least but I do admit there is talent involved in the genre. I am a lifelong metalhead and listen to mostly thrash, but also black metal and death metal. I think metal listeners mostly fight with each other as to which subgenre of metal is better. For example Nu Metal (terrible stuff... eg, Slipknot) verses Thrash ( True Metal... eg, Slayer)

- No! Hell no! I like how thrash is more extreme and complex. I can't stand the way glam metal bands dress either, they look like *******. BQ: I guess Twisted Sister, although they're not entirely glam metal. I tend to stay away from the genre BQ2: Megadeth! And plenty of thrash metal singers can sing. How would Stormtroopers of Death sound if they had some glam metal singer wailing on the mic? Thrash metal vocals fit the music as it should.

- Black Metal - Is usually themed by demonic, godley, or astral lyrics, with high pitched screams and low tuned guitars. Celtic Frost, Old In Flames, Hate Forest, Imortal. Nu-Metal - Is basically what you'll hear commercially. Not much differnece between Nu-metal and heavy rock really. Adema, American Headcharge, Slipknot ect... Thrash metal - High tempo, quick paced metal, kinda like a harder faster new metal. Gojira, Doom, Dead Head. Death Metal - Death themed, high tuned guitar, quick tempo and heavy use of guitars. Low and high growling. Carcass, Abysmal Dawn. Animosity, Angel Death, Gandalf Doom metal - Slow tempo, doom and destructioned themed - Swallow the sun, Candelmass, Eternal Tears Of Sorrow. You kinda get the idea. If you simply say heavy metal nowadays, you basically refer to Nu-metal.

- I still don't understand what the phrase new age metal is suppose to mean, are you talking about any metal that was made in the last 5 years or something? How is death metal new age? Death Metal has been around since the late 80's or something, it's hardly new, groove metal isn't new, Pantera was groove metal starting in 91' with cowboys from hell (before that they were glam)... Metal is Metal, and I like Metal, so if that means that I like new age metal than I guess I like new age metal.

- That's what I did.....Helps insulate noise from rain or hail. As well, an extra insurance to prevent leakage......the screws for the metal roof have rubber washers. If one of these should start leaking, what are the odds of water finding its way past that, and finding a hole in the shingles underneath? Did my house 3 years ago, and did my garage this summer. House took 2 short days (2 guys) and garage took one day.

- simple. metal is a good conductor of heat while wood is a bad conductor. so when touch metal more heat is transferred from your body to metal than in the case of touching wood. hence, metal objects appear to be colder than wooden objects.
