Q: Where did people who worked with iron get the iron from to make chain and nails? And how do the workers get the iron out of the ore?
Iron ore is basically iron oxide,Fe2O3. Coke(coal, not the carbonated drink.:D) is used as a reducer to remove the oxygen. C+O2CO2 CO2+C2CO Fe2O3+3CO2Fe+3CO2 And now you have your iron,Fe without the oxygen!
Q: iron and iron
Iron is a mineral. It is a metal. The inactive ingredients in iron tablets are made of the same kind of chemicals as vitamins.
Q: I have low iron. I always have, but now it‘s worse than ever and I feel kinda sick from it. But I‘m not sure what iron even does or why I feel sick from not having enough.
Iron is in your red blood cells and carries oxygen. Without enough iron, you get weak, breathless and can faint. It is awful. I have to take iron on and off. Get the kind that does not upset your stomach or cause constipation. Iron supplements turn your poop greenish black, just so you know. I take a large dose twice a week. Take with vitamin C and a meal. Are you sure that you are iron deficiency and not a lack of B-12 or frolic acid? Make sure with a blood test.
Q: I have trouble crisply ironing a pair of slacks that are 67% Modal, 28% Wool, and 5% Spandex. The result is generally ironed, but with a few wrinkles in them, or an appearance that doesn‘t looked freshly ironed.I spray the pants and let that sit for about 10 minutes, then iron with a setting that is just above the wool setting.Any other tips?
Try this: Set iron for WOOL setting. Add water to the iron. Always use steam heat when pressing. Never iron wool fabric dry. Squeeze gently to remove excess water. Do NOT wring the garment. Press garment on the inside of the garment to avoid surface shine. Use a pressing cloth when top pressing. A clean white handkerchief or cotton cloth may also be used. When pressing napped fabrics, place a piece of the same fabric or a thick terry cloth towel on the ironing board to prevent crushing. Shine created by pressing may be reduced by sponging white vinegar on surface of wool garment. Rinse thoroughly. Some recommended notions for someone with a lot of wool to press are a steam iron, a tailor's ham for pressing curved areas such as collars and lapels, a seam roll for pressing seams open without making a visible seam edge, a point presser for hard-to-reach places, and a press cloth. One common trade name for rayon is Modal?. To iron rayon, when necessary, use the steam setting on a warm iron and a dry pressing cloth on the inside of the garment. So, if you can make sense out of that.I would say that your best bet is to iron it moist (don't let it sit) and to use some of the professional accessories to get a crisp finish.
Q: Steel can be shaped into wires sheet etc very easily.is it the same case with iron? [ pure iron]
Sure. We used to use iron in a fairly pure form, with almost no carbon in it. It was called 'wrought iron,' and it was essentially pure iron with some fibers of slag in it, but these didn't make much of a difference in its behavior. The Eiffel Tower is made of wrought iron, as is the framework of the Statue of Liberty in the US. There are some pillars of iron in India somewhere. We could still make things out of pure iron if we wanted, but we generally don't because steel--iron with just a tiny bit of carbon added--is so much stronger, even though it rusts rather more readily than pure iron.
Q: I wanna do an experiment, and I wanna know if it‘s possible to grow iron sulfate crystals as it is for copper sulfate crystals. are ferrous sulfate and iron sulfate the same product??
Is ferrous sulfate and iron sulfate the same thing? I wanna do an experiment, and I wanna know if it's possible to grow iron sulfate crystals as it is for copper sulfate crystals. are ferrous sulfate and iron sulfate the same product? Ferrous is the +2 ion FeSO4 Ferric is the +3 ion Fe2(SO4)3 ferric sulfate Solubility at 50°C 25.6 g/100mL (anhydrous) CuSO4 48.6 g/100 mL (heptahydrate) CuSO4 * 7 H2O Make a saturated solution in 80 degree distiled water and let cool Enjoy
Q: this might sound really stupid, but what do flat irons do? do theyy just straighten hair?
Thats not stupid. Haha. I have naturally straight hair, and I use my flat iron to curl my hair. I curl it often actualy. In my opinion (a lot of people might not agree but I don't care lol) it's a lot easier to cul your hair with a flat iron as a opposed to a curling iron.
Q: Do you have a GOOD recipe for a flat iron steak?
NGREDIENTS (Nutrition) * 2 pounds flat iron steak * 2 1/2 tablespoons olive oil * 2 cloves garlic, minced * 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley * 1/4 teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary * 1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh chives * 1/4 cup Cabernet Sauvignon * 1/2 teaspoon salt * 3/4 teaspoon ground black pepper * 1/4 cup dry mustard powder DIRECTIONS 1. Place the steak inside of a large resealable bag. In a small bowl, stir together the olive oil, garlic, parsley, rosemary, chives, Cabernet, salt, pepper and mustard powder. Pour over the steak in the bag. Press out as much air as you can and seal the bag. Marinate in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours. 2. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the steak in the hot skillet for 3 to 4 minutes on each side, or to your desired degree of doneness. Discard the marinade. These steaks taste best at medium rare. Allow them to rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
