- Q: i think i may be pregnant..if my boss fires me or lays me off after he finds out can i get him in any trouble? what if he waits till after matertinity leave
- If your main water pipe is hot, its very possible that you are facing cavitation. Cavitation means that cavities or bubbles are forming in the liquid that we're pumping. These cavities form at the low pressure or suction side of the pump, causing several things to happen all at once: 1) The cavities or bubbles will collapse when they pass into the higher regions of pressure, causing noise, vibration, and damage to many of the components. 2) We experience a loss in capacity. 3) The pump can no longer build the same head (pressure) 4) The pump's efficiency drops 5) General warmth of the pipe on the suction side. I would take a moment and check the impellor on your pump. If it looks like its chewed up, its a definite sign of cavitation. Cavitation can be caused from a variety of situations. Some of them include: - The system was designed incorrectly. There are too many fittings and/or the piping is too small in diameter. - Solids have built up on the inside of the pipe. - A suction strainer is clogged. - Be sure the tank vent is open and not obstructed. Vents can freeze in cold weather - Maybe a check valve is broken and the seat is stuck in the pipe. - The inside of the pipe, or a fitting has corroded. - A bigger pump has been installed and the existing system has too much loss for the increased capacity. - A globe valve was used to replace a gate valve. - The pump speed has increased.
- Q: I'm not planning on making one, but I was curious how one would go about making a speed bump (say for a private company parking lot.) Is this a project that is best left to the professionals or a quick weekend project some good friends could help with?
- No. Tap-a-line fittings are designed for copper tubing. Braided lines should never be punctured. The good news- there is a fitting designed for your application. You want a compression tee with a 1/4 in branch for your icemaker line. Visit a local plumbing supply shop or hardware store (not the orange or blue know nothing stores) and explain your situation. You might even consider a braided line for the icemaker supply if it is not too far away.
- Q: what do I use to get black soot off of a brick fireplace ???
- Cut the pipe off with a pipe cutter. Then, you can use a sharkbite cap to cap it off until you can repair it properly. Pipe cutter and cap are likely to be found at just about any hardware store, and would probably cost less than $20 total. Sharkbite is not the only option, but they are very easy to use if you have no experience with plumbing. Stephen: You are correct that sharkbite fittings do not fit galv pipe, but the asker specified that it was a copper pipe.
- Q: I drive about 1500 miles a month. How many miles before the studs are rendered useless?
- she is just a rambunctious kitten. this is how she would play with her litter-mates if they were around. she will grow out of it with time, but for now you can use a spray bottle full of water on pressurized are to get her to cut it out. the reason her bites hurt so much is she has sharp baby teeth, kittens do not nip like puppies do, they full on bite. I would highly recommend getting a little spray bottle from the store and trying that.
- Q: What are the links between hydraulic components and pipe couplings that are used to prevent leakage?
- If it is a super high pressure seal (70 MPa or more), the metal cone can be used for hard sealing, that is, the inclined joint of the pipe joint is matched with the inclined plane at the component thread.
- Q: Kevin was asked to do a titration analysis of a solution of sulfurous acid to determine its concentration. In order to do the titration, Kevin prepared 100.0 mL of 0.750 mol/L standard solution of sodium hydroxide, then titrated 20.00 mL aliquots of the standard solution with the unknown acid (assume all the reactions go to 100% completion.)A) in four or five steps, describe how kevin prepared standard solution of sodium hydroxide. make sure to include calculationthanks in advance
- This is something you should be able to repair yourself depending on what kind of pipes / fittings you have. If you have PVC, it shouldn't be more than the cost of the valve and some Rain or Shine pipe glue. (Maybe, less than $20.) If you have metal or copper pipes, you should probably call a plumber. Depending on where you're located, between $100 - $150. There should be another shut off valve at the street, if you have city water or on your well pump, if you have a deep well. Be sure to cut off the water at those location(s) before you begin any repair process. Hope this helps.
- Q: i went to the pool one time after soccer and forgot my bathing suite. i went swimming w/ my tank and shorts on. haha :)
- I speak of personal experience. Is that OK? i) Withholding salary increments and promotion because of personal prejudice base on religious belief. ii) Refusing to grant an increase in salary because of employee honesty. Working for a certain firm as stores manager, I had a lot to do with railway deliveries. Once they incorrectly delivered a drum of pipe fittings which had no address on. I weighed the drum and contacted other firms who bought from the same supplier. I found the correct firm and had the railway collect the fittings - value about $2000.00 - and deliver the drum to the rightful owners. In time the railway personnel asked if I would be able to assist them in the identifying of such unaddressed items. I agreed. On one occasion they sent 9 drums (Est. value $15 00.00 - $20 000.00) for me to identify. The manager of our firm and the accountant saw these on the platform, before I had checked them. He demanded that I tell the railway that all the fittings were ours. There was no manner that the railway personnel would be able to establish the truth. I refused, weighed the drums, and allocated them accordingly. (The other firms were impressed, my manager was not) I was a new employee and after 6 months I approached the Manager with regards to an increase in salary. He refused point blank. I reminded him that a person willing to steal for him, would also be prepared to steal from him. This fell on deaf ears. I was obliged to resign. I could not find other suitable employment, so I started a carpet cleaning business. I was in business about 2 weeks when I was asked to clean that company's office carpets after hours. I suggested I quote for the job before doing the work, the reply was That's not necessary, you won't cheat us. I was handed the keys to the offices and stores and left with my staff to do the work without supervision of any sort. My bill was paid without question. Strange, don't you think?
- Q: I am professional working as manager procurement in the manufacturing industries deals in water treatment technology and power sector companies.
- if the pips are in the same form of shape most likely those kinda things usually are interchangeable but check the fittings that attach the pipe to the head first to see if there the same
- Q: I've got an 6 speed, 2 wheel drive, 2008 Jeep Sahara Unlimited and I need snow chains or cables for my tires. My tires are 255/70/18 and need best to know what works awesome for Icy/snow roads?
- When we moved three years ago I turned in four fully charged but outdated fire extinguishers to my local Fire Dept. They, in turn, handed them off to their fire extinguisher supplier for disposal. When I worked at an aircraft maintenance facility we would remove the valves from obsolete extinguishers - drill a hole in them - and put them in the scrap metal bins. The bottoms made fairly decent ashtrays when they were cut off. The pencil holder on my desk is a cut down 5 pound brass extinguisher base.
- Q: I also want to know if I can put some kind of 'tinting' that is metal based over the windows, and if I would need to ground the RV and put a lightning rod up. I assume a NEMP would fry a simple line filter, how can I do the metal lines, or the water supply? For an option on the windows am considering metal screens, grounded to body. Perhaps double layered?
- difficult point. browse over a search engine. it could actually help!
