So I was wondering if the motherboards that use the new processors are backwards compatible with AM3 socket processors like Phenom II X6 or X4. Did I make this question too complicated? I hope not. - The FX Bulldozer processors require the AM3+ motherboards. Most (if not all) of the AM3+ motherboards are backwards compatible to use the AM3 processors. To be 100% sure that your AM3+ motherboard will support the AM3 processors, check the motherboard's web page and look under CPU support.

- I don't even watch TNA and I would say the Bulldozer. Umaga is a cheap gimmick and I've thought so since the day he came up. He's got damn near no actual moves and the only thing he can do is throw his weight around. I've seen and heard great things about Joe.

- No, you need an AM3+ motherboard to install that. But more cores doesn't make a processor faster in most applications. Only in specialized tasks like movie editing and 3D design/rendering does having 8 cores make any difference. No games use more than 4 cores, and clock speed is what matters most on the CPU side anyway. The Phenom II X4 975 has better gaming performance than the Phenom II X6 1100T, or the FX-8150.
