Q: Hi, I recently replaced a washer on my hot water faucet and now when running the hot and cold water to shower etc. both run for a bit of time and then I hear a thunk noise (loud enough to hear above the noise of water running) and the hot water will drop off as if it is turned off. I then turn on more and the water runs with no problem. This is constant every time I use it. Any ideas. I believe my cold water slows down also but cannot be sure. I have two handle faucet with a pull up button (for shower) on spout. Sometimes the water after turning it up will come out of the faucet head alittle as if the water is pushing out where ever it can. Thank you for any help you can give me.: a rubber washer can warm up with hot water and swell which shuts the water off. That usually means you have the wrong washer in there. since u already threw the old one away lots of luck.

Q: Hi all, I currently have a moen faucet set 3 piece set model 4570 in my bathroom.. My daughter being fearfull that she didn't want the faucet to drip has now turned the cold lever all the way back until now the handle rotates without shuting the water off. I believe I have to replace the stem inside the handle but I can't remove it off the base of the sink. I can't loosen the locking nut underneath the sink either (even with trying to use basin wrench).. I saw the installation instructions online and from the diagram it shows I can acutally remove the hub from the top by holding the handle and twisting the hub if the opposite direction, but this thing won't bulge. what should I do?: unhook all the plumbing fron underneath. Take the whole sink off the vanity and tackle it that way. It is pretty tough sometimes to get the necessary leverage when trying to access everything from underneath. Might be a bit more labor intensive but it will certainly save you some busted knuckles and bruises on your head.

Q: i got the old faucet off just fine, but am having trouble reconnecting the water supply. every time i try to screw it on it starts out fine when i twist it on with my fingers, but as soon as i try to tighten it further with the basin wrench both hot and cold lines screw on very crooked. after a couple of tries i thought maybe it wouldnt cause that much of a problem so after i turned them as far as they would go i turned the valves back on to see and water sprayed everywhere. what am i doing wrong?: Oh I bet you got the wrong sized supply lines. Take one back off and compare it side by side with the old one. I bet ya, I bet ya!

Q: The sink fixture when installed never sealed properly and water can seep between the portion of the faucet that meets the sink basin. Just a small area - I'm not replacing the sink - just can't and won't. I had used some clear caulk around the base of the faucet fixture, but it came off after a few months: it was silicone, but in the fine print it says that it was for windows and doors (I just took the tube he handed me then left). It worked fine while it lasted, but what type would you suggest?: Whatever you use you have to get the sink up so you can fill the space under it. You can't just fill the crack because it won't seep in where it can get a grip.
