Application of geotextiles
Filtration
It can be the filtration layer of the dykes, river canal, seacoast, concrete slope, retaining walls. At the same time of preventing the clay granule from passing, it allows the water and the gas pass through freely.
Separation
The isolation of the railway dregs and the roadbed, roadbed and the soft base, surface of the airdrome and parking lot and the groundsill, different dam materials. It isolates the
soil and the gravel of two kinds different

granule pathway from the groundsill or other buildings.
Reinforcement
The highway, railway, soil-stone dam, breakwater, airport, backfill soil of retaining wall,
slope protection, etc in which distributes the earth stress,
prevents the side-displacement of the earth body and improves the earth
body stability.
Protection
It prevents the bank from being washed out, protects the bank and the

bottom, prevents the water and soil from being washed away.

Q:How do you choose ground cover for a formal garden?
When choosing ground cover for a formal garden, it is important to consider several factors. Firstly, opt for low-growing plants that can maintain a neat and tidy appearance. Select varieties that have a dense, compact growth habit to provide a uniform and polished look. Additionally, choose ground covers with a consistent color and texture that complement the overall design and theme of the formal garden. Consider the maintenance requirements, ensuring that the ground cover is easy to care for and does not require frequent trimming or pruning. Lastly, take into account the growing conditions of the garden, such as sunlight exposure and soil type, to ensure the selected ground cover will thrive in the specific environment.
Q:Is there any way to melt plastic without it burning? I want to mold some into something
Yes, some plastics can be melted, but this is often difficult because the melting point of the plastic is very near its burning temperature. Household heating say a saucepan has hot and not so hot surfaces so reaching the ideal temperature is nearly impossible. You could try making a double boiler with oil as the heat transfer media.
Q:I have heard you shouldn't eat food after you microwave it in plastic. Why?
plastic IS actually microwave safe, its metals and stuff that aren't. but a lot of people say that microwaving your food in plastic can cause cancer : probably because plastic melting/getting absorbed into food? I dont really know if this is true, but i guess better safe than sorry, especially if you have the cheap tubs that leave a lot of loose plastic residue. ive also heard its because of some toxins in the plastic? i know people who only ue a certain kinda of plastic water bottle, or other than that glass, since some plastics can leave debris and tiny bitty plastic bits that you can ingest. i dont know if its really bad for you, but still you dont want to be eating plastic anyway. its pretty much the same thing as dont drink water form a water bottle left in a hot car anyways i cant say i know how bad it is, but to be safe, you can use other things, like i found these great glass bowls at walmart. theyre small and they fit in the refrigerator and come in all differnt sizes. also if i have leftovers i take the food out of the tub into the bowls/plates and then microwave that hope i helped (:
Q:What are the benefits of using plastic greenhouse fans for ventilation?
Plastic greenhouse fans offer several benefits for ventilation in a greenhouse. Firstly, they provide efficient and effective air circulation, ensuring a constant supply of fresh air to plants. This helps in reducing the risk of diseases and pests, as well as promoting healthy plant growth. Secondly, plastic fans are lightweight and easy to install, making them a convenient choice for greenhouse owners. Additionally, they are resistant to corrosion and rust, making them suitable for the humid and damp environment of a greenhouse. Lastly, plastic fans are typically more affordable compared to other materials, making them a cost-effective option for greenhouse ventilation.
Q:How do agricultural plastic products aid in crop protection?
Agricultural plastic products aid in crop protection by providing a physical barrier against pests, weeds, and extreme weather conditions. They can be used as mulch to suppress weed growth, maintain soil moisture, and regulate soil temperature. Additionally, plastic films can be used to cover plants, protecting them from frost, hail, and excessive sunlight. These products help enhance crop yields, improve crop quality, and reduce the need for chemical pesticides and herbicides.
Q:A few months ago, there was news about the nalgene bottles being harmful because of the plastic. They said if plastic has a recycling symbol with a number seven inside, we shouldn't use it.Now what about the water cooler/dispensers? You know, the white tower with a big blue bottle of water inserted? I just checked under that blue bottle and it had the number seven. Is it harmful?
I've been confused about what is ok and what isn't. I avoid plastics in general as much as is practical. I've put a link with information about safe plastics.
Q:plastic polymers- anyone know of any? can't seem to find anything on the web, any help would be appreciated :) Thanks everyone
plastic polymers are all over the place. One example is polystyrene, more commonly known as styrofoam. Another example is polyvinyl chloride (what PVC pipe is made of, and what the PVC stands for). Yet another example is polyester. A lot of clothes are made of this. Just about every plastic product you can think of from a plastic bag at a grocery store, to the plastic wraps and containers that you store food in to save for later are polymers. Your milk jug? a polymer. A bottle of water or pop? Polymer. Some of your clothes contain polymers. There are so many polymers in the world and they're often found in common everyday products. Plastics make it possible.
Q:Are nursery trays suitable for herbaceous perennials?
Yes, nursery trays are suitable for herbaceous perennials. Nursery trays provide a controlled environment for seedlings, allowing them to develop strong root systems and establish themselves before being transplanted into the ground. They also help with organization and efficient use of space in a nursery setting.
Q:What country makes raw plastic?
Plastics are oil based - so it follows that oil producing countries must have the lead
Q:Are nursery trays suitable for starting flower seeds?
Yes, nursery trays are suitable for starting flower seeds. They provide a controlled environment for seed germination and allow for easy transplanting once the seedlings are ready.
