Aluminium foil (or aluminum foil) is aluminium prepared in thin metal leaves with a thickness less than 0.2 millimetres (8 mils); thinner gauges down to 6 micrometres (0.24 mils) are also commonly used.In the United States, foils are commonly gauged in thousandths of an inch or mils. Standard household foil is typically 0.016 mm (0.63 mils) thick, and heavy duty household foil is typically 0.024 mm (0.94 mils). Thefoil is pliable, and can be readily bent or wrapped around objects. Thin foils are fragile and are sometimeslaminated to other materials such as plastics or paper to make them more useful. Aluminium foil supplantedtin foil in the mid 20th century.
In North America, aluminium foil is known as aluminum foil. It was popularized by Reynolds Metals, the leading manufacturer in North America. In the United Kingdom and United States it is, informally, widely called tin foil, for historical reasons (similar to how aluminum cans are often still called "tin cans").Metallised films are sometimes mistaken for aluminium foil, but are actually polymer films coated with a thin layer of aluminium. In Australia, aluminium foil is widely called alfoil.
Aluminium (or aluminum; see spelling differences) is a chemical element in the boron group with symbol Al and atomic number 13. It is a silvery white, soft, nonmagnetic, ductile metal. Aluminium is the third most abundant element (after oxygen and silicon), and the most abundant metal in the Earth's crust. It makes up about 8% by weight of the Earth's solid surface.
- Q: What is the maximum mass of product that can be formed when 10.5 g of aluminum and 23.5 g fluorine react?
- From equation 2x 27 54g Al react with 6 x 19 114g fluorine [use exact atomic mass given by your teacher -I've rounded to 19] forming 168g AlF3 so 1g Al reacts with 114/54g fluorine forming 168/54g AlF3 so 10.5g Al reacts with 10.5 x 114/54g fluorine 22.17g so we have more than enough fluorine, so Al is the limiting reagent here so 10.5g Al reacts with 10.5 x 114/54g fluorine forming 10.5 x 168/54g AlF3 32.67g answer AlF3 max formed 32.67g
- Q: I'm making a roll cake (cake in a jelly roll pan) and the recipe calls for the use of parchment paper to avoid breaking the cake when you remove it from the panI don't have any parchment paper and can't get to the store right now.I was wondering if putting aluminum foil on the pan first would help release the cake more easily, or if I should just use nothing and pour the cake directly onto the pan.Either way I will be greasing the pan with cooking sprayWhat should I do?Thanks!
- foil does work as my daughter used it last week to make pumpkin rollmist it with oil!! my granddaughter used the foil last year for the pumpkin rolls and they turned out perfectlyI used parchment only when I owned the bakery and could afford to buy it in large sheets and used it in display pans and sticky roll and bun pans.
- Q: I live at a really hot place and don`t want to keep on spending money on popsicles
- Do you have a walmart near you? The large Hawaiian Punch is $1.97 which is the lowest price in townJust pick your favorite flavor and pour into moldsThe popsicle molds are pretty inexpensiveYou can substitute by using a plastic cup and inserting a popsicle stickYou just need something to keep the popsicle stick in the middle- if you save the tops off of to-go cups, you can just lay those on top or use aluminum foil- poke a tiny hole and just barely tear it to fit the popsicle stick.

- Only if feeding extra wont keep them from shiveringI have rugs for everyone but never use unless they are sick or ailingI use a sheet if I'm trying to keep horse clean for a show or a paradeI have seen more horses hurt by rugs than helped in my areaPeople don't take care of them or their horses often enough when they are wearing themDaily attention needed.
- Q: at what temp for how long should I bake them? I have what says quot;Bonless Texas Ribsquot; on the package, but they're in stripsI have only 3 strips, I could just cut them into pieces make a kobob, but it's raining so we're not using the grill tonightInstead, I put seasoning salt on them, then put potatoes carrots in the pan with themDo you think 350 degrees for 45 minutes will be enough?
- Without the bones they have a tendency to dry outI would wrap them in aluminum foil, then put the foil wrapped ribs on a baking pan or cookie sheetIf the ribs are precooked, the 350 degree oven should be fine, but check after 30 minutesIf raw, the ribs should take 45-60 minutes.
