Limited Product Warranty
Under normal application, installation, use and service conditions, if MODULES fail to conform to this limited product warranty due to defects in material or workmanship, then for a period ending 12 years from date of sale as shown in the invoice or Contract issued by CNBM SOLAR. CNBM SOLAR will, at its option, either repair or replace or refund the purchase price as paid by the client for these defective MODULES. The repair or replacement or refund remedy shall be the sole and exclusive remedy provided under the “Limited Product Warranty” and shall not extend beyond the 12 years period set forth herein. It will be performed directly to the direct client only. This “Limited Product Warranty” does not warrant a specific power output, which shall be exclusively covered under “Limited Peak"

- It may be that the power output of your solar panel is not enough to drive the DC motor. It is producing up to 6 volts but it may not be producing many milliamps. LEDs need very little power to work but DC motors often need quite a high current to get them turning. If you can run several solar panels in parallel, you can probably increase the available current. Alternatively, can you expose the existing panel to much more light so as to get it to work at its maximum output? That might work. Good luck with your science exhibition.
- Q: I want to know how to hook up a Solartech SPM020P-R, 20W Solar Panel to a single outlet that you can but at a store.
- That solar panel puts out about amp (in round numbers). If you are talking about a 20vac outlet, you'll have to send the output of the solar panel through an inverter. That brings it up to 20vac. 20 watts at 20 volts means you'll only be able to draw 0.6667 amps. With an inverter at 85% efficiency, you'll only get about 0.4 amps. That would barely light a CFL. 20 watts of power at 7 volts = amp (in round numbers) 20 watts of power at 20vac = 0.6667 amp (in round numbers) Power (watts) = current x voltage. If you increase voltate, you must decrease current to get the same watts. Watts is the common denominator in power measurement.
- Q: I have a solar panel I bought for a diy project and it has a small plug on the end of it, but I need to remove this plug to expose the positive and return wires so I can solder a bunch of stuff together. How do I cut off the plug without shorting out the solar panel when I make the cut? Can I just leave it in the dark a while before cutting? I don't think I can remove the wires from the solar panel end before cutting.

The spark can slightly mar the contacts. Doing the work indoors is enough to cut down the current, too. For a 60-watt panel or less, I wouldn't even worry about the spark, the power output is too low to do any damage.

- A solar electric panel? No. Solar electric cells, or more properly photovoltiac (PV) cells, are made from specially prepared (doped) wafers of silicon, much like transistors and diodes. CDs and DVDs are made from plastic plated with aluminum. They don't have anything to do with each other. Of course you can make a reflector out of CDs or DVDs, and you could use a bunch of them to focus sunlight on a water tank or something - this is called solar thermal generation. (That's what that ehow page is talking about, not generating electricity.) But there are much better things to use for mirrors.
