If you shop around a sheet of 1/2 drywall can come as little as $3.50You should just buy new drywall Blow in insulation is the cheapest typically you can buy, but it has equipment rental costs as wellFiberglass batt is the next price upMost people don't install it perfectlyThe simpler the framing is, the better it will go inIf you have a lot of obstacles good luck on fiberglass batt.
Q:I need to put insulation in the ceiling between the first and second floor (Chicago area)Both spaces are heated and air conditionedThe first floor room is built on a slab and has 2 walls of windowsThe first floor room is heated but is cold, The second floor room is heated and comfortableEverything I've read says the facing goes toward the heated sideWell, in my case both sides are heated, but one side not as well as the otherSo do I get unfaced insulation or faced? If I get faced, what side do I put the facing on?
The faced towards the heated space refers to exterior wall insulationYou can use faced staple it to the joists, or use non-faced batts use keeper wires to hold up the battsThe windows are your heat loss factor.you might want to budget for replacing with triple pane units down the roadThat much glass looses a lot of heatAs an intrim stop-gap, you could install full-length heavy drapes close them at night or at times you are not using the room Good luck.
Q:I have a friend who is a giants fan and I would like to crochet him a blanketSo I am looking for orange and black mixed yarnBulky is perfect if possibleI found one place but the yarn is made from banana fibersThat is just weird, but the colors were coolYarn was a bit too thin alsoIf anyone knows of any kind of yarn from anywhere can you please respondI would rather have a yarn that has various colors in it, rather that mix two threads togetherThank You.

Q:I currently live in a huge house that was built for 6, but currently houses 2.We cannot afford to heat said house. As a result, aforementioned house is freezing cold, 24/7I can see my breath in the unfinished part of our basement.I am currently typing as I sit on a heated bed, bundled under 3 blankets, sipping coffee that would go cold in 10 minutes if I didn't have it sitting on a hot plate.I do know that cold temperatures can affect your joints and such (to what extent, I do not know), which pretty much makes it painful for me to work out or run on a treadmill strenuously or for extended periods of time, but I also find that when I am at home, freezing my off, I often feel quite depressed, uninspired, and unmotivatedCould it be the cold?

Did you check the R rating of the recycled cotton or denim insulation to see if the R rating is as high as the fiber glass insulation?
Q:I'm afaid of fiberglass and stuff falling threw the cracks.
aluminum welding would work best.select an alloy that has a high alumcontent (1100 or c399 would be best) this is so it wont oxidizeget a professional to weld itNot the hillbilly down the road who says he can, alum welding is pretty difficult compaired to steel welding.
Q:How to find out thickness(dia) of an soft things likes Yarn,Fibers,Hair?

Q:I was put on a high-fiber diet by my doctor to help ease symptoms of Irritable Bowel SyndromeI recently started eating fiber fortified cereal and yogurt, drinking fiber fortified slim fasts with my meals, and choosing high-fiber foods all aroundIt has been only a few days since I started this new form of eating, and I have been very gassy and I've had an upset stomachIs this in any way related to my new diet, and if so, when can I expect my body to get used to the new diet I'm eating? Alsois a high fiber diet going to make me feel more satisfied after meals? I am a vegetarian and often find myself over eating snacks because my main courses are not filling enough.
