Q: I need to insulate my exterior facing walls in my homeThey are too thin to add foam or blow in insulation toInstead of removing the plaster board walls that we have now and adding insulation then replacing the old walls with drywall.I thought I could add that dense foam board and cover that with drywallWould that work to insulate well?Presently you can feel the cold air blowing in from the outside because we just don't have any insulation at all in our wallI'm hopefull that by adding this foam board and drywall layer this will cut back on wasted money/energy trying to keep our home warm/cool
My dream is to stuck with elevator with ONE super smoking college girl.
Q: Where can I find fabric (fake fur) that looks like Boober's fur in Fraggle Rock?
Unless you plan on finishing the attic space, adding insulation between the roof rafters is probably a waste of time, and depnding on the climate, it could present you with moisture problems in the attic.
Q: My building is going to replace all units' windowsWe have two choicesOne is regular vinyl window, and the other one is fiberglass windowwhich one is better ? sounds like fiberglass is pretty new in the market(probably about 6-7 years )Can anyone give me some advice ? thanks a lot !
just buy one from a headshop.in a pinch you can make it out of aluminum foil.
Q: Currently have insulation covered with backing board which has to be removed to do electric work, was told I could just put plastic down on ground instead of replacing between joists with insulationWhats the right and best way?
I own a mobile home myself and would strongly suggest the insulation between the joists, and then a plastic sheeting placed over that to make it as airtight as possibleThe skirting on these things cannot keep wind out, and any insulation placed on the ground inside the skirting is going to sit in the water potentially moldingAdditionally every one who has to open the skirting is going to kick that insulation out of the way and your going to have to keep fixing itOn the other hand, the money you would save on insulation, you could give to the gas company this year, and again next year, and the next and.
Q: i want to know what yarn brand is know for having very good and specialty yarni want to get my mom some so it has to be nicethanks if you answer!_
Why can't you just carry them up the stairs? It's only 4? stories, and they're only 3M long.
Q: Hi there,I had a blanket questionI have a three and a half year horse filly and even though I don't blanket her I would like to have a winter turnout one on hand just in caseThe lowest temperature it can get up here is -5 F? during the winterSo it would be great if you guys had any suggestions on what type and weight of blanket I should get for her that would be awesome!Thank you so much :)
If she is able to stand the cold weather usually and has a good, thick coat, I would go with a medium (250g) to a medium-heavy blanket (around 300-350g)My TB has a 250g medium Amigo (by Rambo) blanket, and my mixed pony mare has a 180g light blanketIt only gets down to around 15 ?F here, thoughAlso, try to buy a 1000+ denier blanket that is waterproof; the higher denier almost guarantees less repair work on the blanket due to wear and tearHope this helps!
Q: How do you make an interactive scrapbook?
NEVER MICROWAVE ALUMINUM OR ANY OTHER METAL IT WILL CATCH FIRERemove eggs to a glass or microwaveable plastic and add 1 teaspoon water per egg whip with a fork or whisk then cover and microwave for 1-2 minutes check after first minute and re-scramble - if still loose cook 30seconds then check again and if not cooked to you liking continue 10 seconds at a time until consistancy desired.
Q: Hi,I've recently moved into a 30 year old house which current has a warm loftThe insulation is up against the roof with plasterboard keeping it putThere is no insulation in the loft floorThere are also no vents in the eaves which I presume is correct when having a warm loft.My question is how much heat is lost from the bedrooms into the warm loft? And is it very ineffecient to have a warm loft if I only store things up there? We want to keep storing items in the loft but at the same time keep the heat in the bedroomsShould I insulate in the loft floor as well or will this cause me problems with condensation, etcWhat is recommended for this situation? If I insulate the loft floor do I need to remove the insulation in the roof and add some vents in the eaves, therefore converting it into a cold loft? Could I just add some 100mm/170mm thickness insulation in the loft floor to allow some heat to stay in the room and allow some heat into the loft? Many thanks, Paul.
Hi Paul, You can certainly insulate the loft floorWhatever you do, don't remove any insulation, anywhereDon't add vents unless you notice considerable condensation.
