- Q: solar panels!!they are fantastic! cause they are the new way of quot;chargingyour home, without killing the earth!would you install them, or not? and make sure you say WHY
- Why: ) It's a great technology. 2) It has low impact to the environment. Why Not: ) Initial cost is substantial. 2) solar panel technology is greatly improving. I would hold out for a few more years when you can actually use it as a sustainable source and as a replacement source and not so much a suplimentary source.
- Q: I want to know that if I put solar panels in space if Pluto can recieve energy for iPods and television
- Two problems: ) solar flux. Around Earth, we receive solar energy to the tune of 370 W/m^2 (watts per square metre). In theory, if you have a solar panel of metre by one metre and place it (in space) directly perpendicular to the rays of the sun (meaning = the panel is facing the sun perfectly), you should get 370 watts of power. In practice, the panels are never 00% efficient so that you get less. The flux (just like the intensity of light) drops as the square of the distance increases. Pluto is -- on average -- 39 times further from the Sun, therefore the flux there will be reduced by a fraction of 39^2 = 52 times 370 / 57 = 0.9 W Even with 00% efficiency, you square metre panel will produce less than one watt, once you get it out to Pluto. 2) temperature It is very difficult to built a solar panel (with all the required wire connections) that remains flexible enough at Pluto's temperatures. Temperature drops as the 4th root of the flux (or, to make it easier, the square root of the distance). sqrt(39) = 6.25 Temperature at Pluto = Temperature at Earth / 6.25 (in degrees Kelvin -- also known as Absolute Temperature) At best, temperature around here is 300 K (it is less than that, but 300 makes the calculation easier) 300 / 6.25 = 48 48 K = -225 C = -373 F wires and insulation become very brittle at these temperatures... and one watt of power flowing through the wires will NEVER be enough to warm them up (never mind running the iPod).
- Q: Just wondering if it is possible to recycle solar panels and where that would be done. If it is possible, is there a money refund in return. Or would it be better to just take the metal off and get a refund in that way? Looking for basically any answer here.
- yes they are very recyclable, and you would actually be suprised at how much you get back from them just as materials, as there are still very valuable materials in them.... Often solar shops will accept them back for at a fraction of what you paid, as they can send them back to the manufacturer who then do all the material stripping in them and recycle all the materials there. Mainly depends what type of solar panels you have.... Most probably poly-chystalline or mono-chystalline. If they are that cool blue or black psychadelic looking panel also the manufacturing make that effect is also costly so they would probably look to buying that as well.. I would ask a solar shop where it can be done as the silicon in them are still a very prescious substance..... I would definatly not throw them out or pull them apart just yet
- Q: What would these solar panels power? For instance, my energy bill shows 2035kWh for last month. How much would this remove from that if it outputted full power? Thanks!
- 60 Watt Solar Kit 60 watts not much. Max. Power*: 60 Watts Voltage at Maximum Power (Vpm): 6.7 V Current at Maximum Power (Ipm): 3.30 A 0 or 20 of them plus inverter plus battery's not real viable I think how much energy was used in the manufacture of the cells, unfortunately a long way to go
- Q: Can solar panels be used to power a sports car?
- Yes, solar panels can be used to power a sports car. By installing solar panels on the roof or other suitable areas of the vehicle, the energy from the sun can be harnessed and converted into electricity to power the car. This can help reduce the reliance on traditional fuel sources and make the sports car more environmentally friendly. However, the efficiency of solar panels in generating enough power to solely operate a sports car may still be limited, so a combination of solar power and other energy sources might be required for optimal performance.
- Q: Installing solar panels requires a big initial investment. Before I make this investment I want to check to see if the money I will save by installing solar panels will actually pay for this investment, in the long run. To calculate my savings, we should consider the area (square feet) I currently have available to install solar panels. Look at the available sunlight and its intensity in my state each month of the year. Based on this data estimate how much energy my solar panel will generate. Then compare that with how much energy (kWh) I currently consume based on my electricity bill.
- you have a really good formula for figuring out what you will save. as long as you dont live the the arctic during the winter months you should be fine! this investment will definitely pay off in the long run and help the environment. just like the other guy said, the utility company would have to pay you back any excess energy you produce that you dont use! you can calculate how much your average electric bill is and then compare by how much you would be saving. you can multiply the number by 5 and 0 years and so on to see how much you would save ultimately! this is a great way to save your own money and never have to be dependent on the electric company again! yes you will definitely need a battery to hold a charge for overnight use good luck!
- Q: I need to write a pressuasive essay on why we should use solar panels more than we do. and convince people that their good and stuff.. if u guys could give me some good key reasons why..that would be great.
- if they get energy from burning coal, they will be destroying our atmosphere. if they use solar panels, they can use natural energy from the sun without harming the environment.
- Q: Can solar panels be used in areas with high levels of saltwater exposure?
- Yes, solar panels can be used in areas with high levels of saltwater exposure. However, it is important to take certain precautions to prevent corrosion and maximize their performance. This can be achieved by using materials that are resistant to saltwater corrosion, such as stainless steel or aluminum frames, and encapsulating the solar cells with durable and protective coatings. Regular maintenance and cleaning can also help ensure the longevity and efficiency of solar panels in such environments.
- Q: Can solar panels be installed on mobile homes?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on mobile homes. In fact, mobile homes can be great candidates for solar panel installations due to their smaller size and affordability. Additionally, solar panels can help mobile homeowners save on electricity bills and reduce their carbon footprint.
- Q: I live in Hawaii and having a solar panel is not a bad idea since we have plenty of sun the only problem is that it cost a lot of money and takes many years before you get your money back. There are kits available where you can make and install your own solar panel and wind turbine but is it bull **** or is it a good deal?
- In my opinion, it is a losing equation. They will wear out and go bad long before you break even with your investment. The technology isn't there yet for the average homeowner. Save energy costs using other methods.
