Q: Can solar panels be installed on a barn or agricultural building?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a barn or agricultural building. In fact, it is becoming increasingly common for farmers and landowners to install solar panels on their barns or agricultural buildings to generate renewable energy and reduce their dependence on traditional power sources.
Q: how fast does a 25watt solar panel generate power to a battery? trying to figure out a conversion factor here to get a rough estimate of how many i would need to power my house, please help?
To figure our how many you need, take a look at your power bill. It will tell you how many kilowatt/hours you used during the month. My bill says I use about 2000 kilowatt/hours per month, or about 2000 kwh /30 days=67 kw/h hours per day. That is 67,000 watt hours. To supply that with solar panels, you have to generate at least 67,000 watt hours, but you don't have a full day to do it, since you have to do it while the sun is up. So you put the energy into batteries during the day, so you can use it at night. A 25 watt panel generates about 25 watts when fully illuminated by the sun. If you fully illuminate it for an hour, you get 25 watt hours. If you get 2 hours of sunlight a day, that would seem to imply that I need 67000 watt hours/25 watts /2 hours=45 panels. But for most of the day, the sun isn't hitting the panel fully, so it isn't going to generate the full 25 watts. When the sun is 45 degrees to the side, you only get about 70%. When the sun is 60 deg to the side, you only get 50%. And what do you do on cloudy days? And the shorter days in the winter? To make up for this, you have to increase the number of panels to make up for the loss. So in reality, I might need double this number of panels, for realiable solar power throughout the year. That works out to about 90 panels, or ,250 watts worth for my house.
Q: Composition and function of solar panels
The demand for polysilicon is mainly from semiconductors and solar cells. According to the different requirements of purity, divided into electronic and solar level.
Q: I was looking at thin flexible solar panels as solar panels 500w a option to upgrade a 20w solar panel I have permanently mounted to the roof of a home made camper van.Why I was thinking flexible is at just 2mm thin they can be glued down and being flexible they will follow the contour of the rounded shape of the roof of my camper (boxy standard solar panel spoils the lines a little)Another reason is no glass to brake when traveling on dirt tracks(though I am surprised mine hasn't broken yet after thousands of km on corrugated dirt roads). Finally there is a weight saving at only /3 the weight or less then a standard glass panel. There are different grades of flex PV some of the more expensive ones are very flexible with extremely thin backing at around .5mm The ones I was looking at are cheaper and at around 2mm with a thin flexible aluminum backing.$250 is about the going rate for 20w OKorder job. Below is a pic of a smaller one 60w or so.Has anyone had any experience with them?

Q: I've been thinking and I'd like to have solar panels installed on my roof at some point to help reduce our electricity consumption- but I live in IL and in the winter it frequently snows. Is there such a thing as heated solar panels so they don't get coated w/ice or snow? Are solar panels even a feasible option in IL? Thank you, Anna
You can do solar anywhere and yes, they're a viable option in IL - as they are where I live - in Maine! We get snow and also lots of low light days in the winter. It's not as easy as say -having solar in New Mexico (self-identified as the solar capitol!) but - you can still generate a nice amount of electricity with your solar panels on a nice day in IL - and they're fine in the snow.
Q: How do solar panels affect the roof warranty?
Solar panels generally do not void a roof warranty, but they may have some impact on it. The installation process of solar panels involves drilling holes in the roof, which can potentially cause leaks if not done properly. Therefore, it is important to hire a reputable installer who is experienced in working with solar panels and understands the intricacies of a roof. Some roofing manufacturers may require specific mounting systems to be used, and failure to comply with these requirements may void the warranty. It is advisable to consult with both the solar installer and the roofing manufacturer to understand any potential impact on the roof warranty before installing solar panels.
Q: Can solar panels be installed on a military base or facility?
Yes, solar panels can definitely be installed on a military base or facility. In fact, many military bases around the world have already adopted solar energy as a means to reduce their reliance on fossil fuels and increase their energy independence. Solar panels can be installed on rooftops, parking lots, or open fields within the base, providing a sustainable and reliable source of clean energy. The use of solar panels on military bases not only helps to reduce carbon emissions but also enhances the resiliency and security of the base's energy infrastructure.
Q: i have a fountain system that has a small electric pump. its made to be close to a house but i want it across the driveway and i dont want to run electrical over there.is there a small solar panel that i can get fairly inexpensive to mount on a nearby tree and be able to plug the pump into it?
More okorder /... (... or search portable solar panel) And probably under a tree isn't a good placement for a solar panel. Good luck!
Q: i'm making a small solar panel powered fan but it cant run the cellphone vibration motor even i have place two x2 solar panel.
A solar cell's purpose is to generate electricity through the release of electrons from a material that is bombarded by electromagnetic radiation or photons. Most crystalline solar cells are sensitive to visible radiation from 400 - 700 nanometers, which correspond to 3. - .8 electron volts, of the visible region as shown by ACEPT W3 Group (999) and also into the near infrared spectrum. As the wavelength of the electromagnetic radiation increases, the amount of electron volts decreases. This means that infrared radiation has less electron volts than the visible spectrum of light (because it has a larger wavelength than visible light) and ultraviolet and gamma radiation has more electron volts than both the visible spectrum of light and infrared radiation (because they have a smaller wavelength than both infrared and visible light). Abramowitz, M., Davidson, M., Neaves, S. (2003) wrote that all forms of electromagnetic radiation originate from the atom which contain orbiting electrons around its nucleus. When those electrons absorb more external energy than they can contain in order to be stable, the extra energy is released in the form of an electromagnetic wave. That electromagnetic wave contains a magnetic field and an electric field, one offset by ninety degrees to the other along the propagation plane.
Q: The inverter I am using gets the required 2 DC volts from the solar panel, but fo some reason it just won't output the 0 AC voltage. When the inverter is hooked to a car battery, it works just fine off the same 2 DC rating. Help me out please...
Solar panels output a very small amount of current. Even though you're getting 2V from the panels, you aren't getting enough amperage to power even the inverter itself, let alone anything plugged into the inverter. Car batteries are able to be used with inverters because they can crank out enough amps to power the inverter and whatever is plugged into it. Inverters only step up voltages and change DC to AC. They do not increase power (wattage) potential. If you want to plug in a 20W appliance into the inverter, the 2V source must be able to deliver 20W of power regardless of voltage. In pretty much everything solar powered, the panels are used in conjunction with batteries. The solar panels slowly recharge the batteries. The batteries are where most of the power comes from. Nothing is driven directly from the solar panels themselves unless the power requirement is low enough, such as a calculator. Solar panels will have an output rating in watts (W). If the wattage of your inverter plus whatever you plug into it is lower than the panel's output rating, then it can power it directly, provided you have 00% light input into the panel.
