- the 14 count is great for cross stitching on ive made some magnets and ornaments that way. last longer than on perforated paper. Perforated paper is another way to make your cross stitch patterns sturdy if that is what your thinking of.
- Q:Can plants grow well under 4 millimeter plastic sheeting.?
- Ventilation will be important. It can get hot under there. Don't know if you are talking a greenhouse, grow tunnel or what.
- Q:im trying to make a plexiglass longboard skateboard out of plexiglass
- I would recommend using a polycarbonate like Lexan or Hyzod instead of acrylic resin products like Plexiglas. They are considerably stronger, yet easier to work with. I think a 3/4 inch thickness would be lots if you went with Lexan, but at 4 feet long, any plastic sheet is going to be bouncy (Plexi will snap). You might have to edge it with something rigid to fix that. Usually anything over 1/4 inch (~6mm) is special order, but you never know, a local sign shop or glass shop might have some cutoff for you.

- they are different. acetate can be transparent like glass and isn't very flexible. I haven't seen clear PVC (thats not to say it doesn't exist) but it can be very flexible- like garbage bags or it can be made hard - like plastic pipes. PVC is more a group of plastics

- Yes, there are several differences between Mylar and the ordinary white or milky drop sheeting. First, real Mylar is much more expensive than the ordinary [usually Polyethylene} plastic drop sheeting. Second, Mylar is EXTREMELY tough and resistant to pulling apart and tearing, which for your use is really not necessary. For use as a grow room enclosure I don't feel the added cost of Mylar is justified.

- It sounds like you have a fear of germs/virus'. I cannot say that I know for fact, but I'm pretty sure that in the process of recycling products they are melted down at extremely high temperatures. Temperatures high enough to kill off all bacteria, before they are then re-assembled into the various products we use today. Also, it is highly unlikely that things such as syringes and bags containing blood and other human liquids ARE recycled. Those things are considered Hazardous Waste and are placed in specifically designed sealed waste bins, and disposed of safely. It would be incredibly irresponsible for a hospital to recycle such products, as you've suggested, and it would also leave them open to millions of lawsuits! Can you imagine? I am sure that the plastic bags you see have been recycled from other plastics such as.. bags, pop bottles, laundry detergent bottles and the like..
