- Q: i found a monitor for sale. its a toshiba 32 2006 model. it doesnt say if its hd. i dont know if monitors in 2006 were all hd yet. the guy says he paid 700 for it in 2006.
- It isn't worth buying a monitor from 2006 unless it's cheap. He paid a lot because LCD screen technology was still a new thing then, not only that but it was still fairly poor quality. A display of that age is likely to have poor definition, slow response time and a narrow viewing angle. I wouldn't pay more than $30 for it, no matter how much it cost when it was new.
- Q: Do all LCD displays have power adapters?

- Q: I was planning on buying a 360 and a VGA HD AV cable to hook up to my monitor. It is an HP w19b, it is widescreen and it runs at 1440x990 max res. I have a couple of questions.1) When I play games, will my monitor give me black bars at the top or bottom?2) If it does, how can i fix it so that it would fill the whole screen?3) What is the max resolution that Halo 3 has?4) Will my monitor stretch out the games when I play them?5) Will the picture look different (in how it is stretched/unstretched) from a 40 INCH LCD FLAT PANEL WIDESCREEN 1080P HD TV?
- 1) No it does not because black bars only happen when you are running a wide screen activite on a normal screen system 2) Well if it does you can make only one big bar by adjusting the screen to where you see but never experience that on mine 3) 1920x1080p at least thats what my friend with the pimped out display says 4) it would look better really because it is more closer to each other and cant even try to split
- Q: Can I measure the ~500-700 volts of voltage in the invertor of an ordinary LCD monitor with a simple multimeter So I can diagnose it?
- You can try to use a high impedance digital multimeter (voltmeter) on the scale 1000 V AC, but the output of the inverter has a high internal resistance, and thus, the voltage will be very different when the load is connected and when it is not (in this case, could be very high, maybe over the end of the scale, but it's not an indication that it's working well). Also, the inverter works at high frequency and usual multimeters (including digital ones) cannot work well at those frequencies: so, it might show something even if it's only one test wire connected (!). The best approach I recommend to you is to test this output by comparing it to a good working monitor, if possible of the same type, with the load connected, and paying attention not to touch with fingers anyone of the test wires. So, if the voltage (on load) in the suspected monitor is lower then 2/3 then the one measured on the good one, you can suspect the inverter.
- Q: I have a 17 LCD monitor.I played MW2 but I see trails of very fast visuals.When there is fast action on the screen I can see wierd effects,which I believe is called 'The Ghosting Effect'.
- The monitor can only display what the graphics card outputs. As the refresh rate of most modern LCD monitors is 60 Hz, it is unlikely to be a problem with the monitor. Most likely it is the performance (or lack of it) of the graphics card.
- Q: Do I need a glass filter for LCD monitor to protect eyes?
- The main reasons for putting a filter on an LCD monitor are to reduce glare on the screen, and to protect the screen from damage in industrial environments. I don't think the filter would affect your eyes at all, except by dimming the monitor slightly. You can adjust the brightness of all new monitors, so a filter is probably not needed unless you are bothered by glare on the screen.
- Q: Do you like the LDC Monitors, or CRT MonitorsI like the LCD monitors (Flat Panel) what about you??
- This choice comes down to a few key requirements. The LCD is the lightest and smallest, but the color accuracy and viewing angle are not as good as a CRT. Although if you are looking straight on, the difference is much less than with an angle. As time passes the viewing angle and color accuracy is becoming far less of an issue. As of today, for the absolute best color and viewing angle the CRT is my choice. For everyday use, gaming too, the LCD is the preferred style.

- 8000 INR is only about Au $200 so depending on things like your local taxes a 17 LCD monitor is all you will probably get for that much money. You should check your local markets and computer shops and ask other local computer users what are the best buys where you are. Visiting the Internet cafes and talking to the owners and users in your area may also reveal some useful information in your quest. Good luck!
- Q: I have an Fujitsu Siemens LCD color monitor B17-1 and when I always try to turn on the computer the monitor doesn't work. Sometimes the light turns orange then green, and it turns on but don't display anything, and then it turns off again, like a cycle. Does anybody knows whats the problem or the solution?
- First try another monitor to double check your video adapter if its not that theres a good chance that either your inverter in the monitor is going out which is an easy fix or the lcd screen is shot in which its cheaper to by a new one
- Q: I have got an ACER P235H model LCD monitor I want to connect my PS2. I do have an external TV tuner card (Intex LCD skyview IT-191). There is just a yellow(VGA) plug on the TV tuner but no red white, for me to connect the audio. Any plug converters that could help? Please do let me know what its called as well.
- The yellow input that is in your Acer monitor is an RCA input, this for video only. All you need is to connect the audio ( red and white RCA) to a sound hardware (surround sound system or something like that ) and you're good to go. There is no other way since what you have is only a monitor, not a tv set. And a converter is not going to do you any good because the monitor have no audio input. Anything else just let me know.
