Q: Can solar panels be used for powering a manufacturing facility?
Yes, solar panels can be used to power a manufacturing facility. Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity, which can be utilized to run various equipment and processes within a manufacturing facility. By installing a sufficient number of solar panels, a manufacturing facility can significantly reduce its reliance on traditional grid electricity and lower its carbon footprint. However, the feasibility and effectiveness of solar panels for powering a manufacturing facility would depend on factors such as the facility's energy requirements, available sunlight, and the size of the solar panel system installed.
Q: I have a small marine solar panel on my boat It came with the boat. I want to make sure it is working before I connect it. With a volt meter It is only reading .2 volts dc. I would think it should be 2-5 volts?
It has to be facing the sun for full power U check at the battery and it should increase as the sun hits directly on it. U can't check it at the panel after the diode.
Q: I want to get a solar panel to run a fan (or two) for swamp coolers.I'm not looking to power 20box fans, just maybe some of those auto fans. What the heck kind of panel do I need? What is a power inverter and what does it do?Will I lose all my power if I use a 00' extension cord? How do I choose what I'm going to need?
Any fan you find in a store is going to expect AC, not DC, which is what solar panels produce. An inverter changes DC to AC. You'll probably want a deep cycle car battery to smooth out overages and underages. Any fan will tell you how many watts it uses. Panels should (i haven't looked) tell you how many watts they produce. Just off hand, I'd guess you're looking at a 2'x4' panel. Considering how much you'll be paying for the rest of the stuff, a good 00' cord is appropriate,. Last, it's worth the experience, but you'll never recover the cost of everything that you'll have to buy. Have fun.
Q: Can solar panels be installed on bus stops or shelters?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on bus stops or shelters.
Q: How much space is needed to install solar panels?
The amount of space needed to install solar panels varies depending on factors such as the size of the panels, the efficiency of the system, and the energy requirements of the property. On average, a typical residential solar panel system requires about 100-400 square feet of roof space per kilowatt of installed capacity. However, it's important to consult with a solar installer to determine the specific space requirements for your property.
Q: We've been considering solar panels for a while now, and we'd like to know a little more about them. Please answer to the best of your knowledge. Thanks.
It's possible that home solar and wind power could have a greater effect on reducing pollution than any other single strategy. What's more, maintenance costs are low and the electricity produced is virtually free. Over 80% reductions in electricity bills are claimed. So that leaves the installation cost. It is possible to pay $,000s, if not $0,000s on home energy systems but is it necessary? There are now a high number of home energy installation programs available on the internet as well as guides to cheaply sourcing the products and materials required. Have a look at the website below to find out more. There are articles dealing with the environmental and financial advantages as well as an introduction to an excellent program.
Q: what kind of rays are used in solar panels?
Electromagnetic...meaning light rays, primarily in the visible spectrum. Ultraviolet and infrared light rays actually degrade most types of solar panels, limiting their useful lifetime. That said, your question is not stated well...so I'm not sure if that's the information you were looking for. Rays are not used in solar panels...rather solar panels are used to collect sunlight and convert it to energy--either directly into heat in the case of passive solar, or into electricity by the use of photovoltaic cells.
Q: I was thinking of having some installed on our rooftop and was wondering if it would be worth the cost? The house is located in Sac, Cali. The panels would face the sun 2 months out of the year and in the summer roughly 4 hours of straight sun.
Solar panels are currently selling for between $4 and $6 per watt of rated power output. A typical panel that you might install on your roof would be rated for between 00 and 300 watts and therefore will cost between about $400 and around $500 or so. A complete solar power system also needs some other components and will have some installation costs and so the total installed cost of a solar system is typically in the range of $8 - 0 per watt of rated power. Most home sized systems are rated in the 000 to 0,000 watt range and therefore cost between about $8000 and $00,000 dollars to install. Many states offer rebates and tax savings that can reduce this cost by as much as 50%. These systems will typically generate between about $300 and $2500 worth or electricity per year. Solar panels are expected to last between 30 and 50 years and so these systems will likely generate between $9000 and $20,000 worth of electricity over their life time in current dollars. This will vary widely though based on local electricity costs and may well increase greatly in the future if electricity rates rise.
Q: I am planning to run a couple of dc motors on solar current. I have a couple of 450mA 4V, 200mA .5V, 00mA 9V solar panels with me. I need to run a pair of .5A 9V motors. Suggest me a circuit along with other equipments I might require. For your info, I am trying to build a solar powered drone / UAV
I don't think it is enough solar power. Your motor requires .5A x 9V = 3.5 watts. The solar cells are .450A x 4V x 2ea. = 3.6 watts, .2A x .5V = .3 watts, .A x 9V = .9 watts total solar = 4.8 watts. The problem with connecting the cells in series to get the right voltage, like the two 4V cells in series with the .5 volt cell (total 9.5 volts) is that the .5 volt cell limits the maximum current to only 0.2A. If you paralleled that with the 9V cell, you would get 9 volts at 0.2 + 0. = 0.3A, too low to operate the motor at its design current and voltage. The best you could do is put the two 4V cells in series, and in parallel with the 9V cell (a blocking diode might be a good idea, but probably not required for such a small array). That way you get 8 volts at 0.55 amps.
Q: Does anyone own any and would you recommend them? right now i only own solar stake lights and i use them during the summer in my yard. But during the winter i take them out because they don't charge well. I live in toronto canada where it snows a lot during the winter, would it even be worth it to buy solar panels? Would they get covered with snow if the were mounted on my roof and get ruined? I plan on buying some when i purchase my own home.Any info would be appreciated:)
I okorder ... to size a system for your home. There is a link on the page to a world solar insolation map so you know how many sun hours you have per day on an avg. Should not take you more then a half hour to get a good idea of what it will cost you and which package system should work. Good luck on going green and don't let the Oil and Nuke people bring you down. They are just looseing money when you make your own power and their nuke power plant goes off line and not replaced. Some one above said solar cost more.. That is not true. I don't know about other countries but here the cost of living is about 3.5% per year so it is compounded each year. Then there is the rise in fuel cost which is 6.5% per year which will increase. But think about it you are buying 30 years of electric for 34000 dollars. If your electric bill was at current prices 00 dollars a month you would pay 36,000 dollars in 30 years. Now add in the 3.5% cost of living compounded each year for 30 years and the fuel increses . You will pay the public utilie 00,000 in that time frame
