- Q: Can solar panels be installed on assisted living facilities?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on assisted living facilities. In fact, many assisted living facilities are now opting for solar panel installations to reduce their energy costs and carbon footprint. Installing solar panels on these facilities not only helps save money in the long run but also promotes sustainability and environmental responsibility.
- Q: How do solar panels affect the property's energy consumption?
- Solar panels can significantly reduce a property's energy consumption by generating clean and renewable electricity directly from the sun. These panels convert sunlight into usable energy, which can power various appliances and systems within the property, thereby reducing the reliance on traditional energy sources and lowering electricity bills.
- Q: I am researching several solar panels to install in my house. I would like to use a 40 watt panel to connect, through a solar battery controller, to a battery or two. I would then like to use the solar panel (40 watts) to charge the battery(ies) for emergency use. Once charged, and when needed, I would like to use the battery(ies), 2 volt deep cycle, to power several LED lamps. Since I am new to solar power I had several questions...Is a 40 watt panel strong/large enough to charge a 2 volt deep cycle battery or two?How long would it take to charge one of these batteries? What would be the expected cost to purchase necessary supplies? (With the solar panel, battery controller, and MC4 cabling I've found I have an expected cost of roughly $00.00 with batteries)Would this be difficult for someone with little experience in this field?
- There okorder / Why pay thousands of dollars for solar energy ($27,000 average cost) when you can build your own solar panel system for just a fraction of the retail cost. You can build a single solar panel or you can build an entire array of panels to power your whole house. Some people are saving 50% on their power bill, some people are reducing their bill to nothing. But what’s most impressive is that just by following these instructions some are even making the power company pay them!
- Q: I was trying to figure out if I could run an electric heater off of a solar panel, but I don't understand these electric convertion factors and stuff. Would it work? (I know it'll only work in the daytime and stuff.)SOLAR PANELPeak Power 95W PTC Watts 73.0WVoc 30.7VPeak Voltage 24.4VIsc 8.6APeak Current 7.96A HEATERInput: 20 V/60 Hz ,500 W/5,200 BTU
- A 500 watt water heater is very small. Most are over 5000 watts. But even a water heater that small would not heat water with a 95 watt solar panel. Inverting the 24 volt to 20 volt would still give you 95 watts of power. A little short of the 500 needed. Sorry. Solar is cool but not practical for large loads unless you install more panels.
- Q: If my school uses 88240kWh of electricity per month and I have 000 50W solar panels running for 6 hours a day, does it mean it will take 88240kWh / {{[(50W x 3600s)*000]/000}kWh x 6} number of hours to generate that much electricity (88240kWh)?
- running six hours a day doesn't mean much. You need to look at the solar insulation charts for your school's geographical location to come up with a better factor. The easiest number for you to use is sun hours. For example, Washington DC averages 4.23 hours. Do a Yahoo search for sun hours and you should find lots of charts. Solar panels rated at 50W give this output at full sun near noon at full brightness (no clouds). The sun hour factor makes it easy to find the equivalent number of full brightness hours. So, using Washington DC as an example you have: 000 panels * 50W * 4.23 sunhours/day = 634kWh a day on average. You state your school uses 88240kWh/month which is 6274kWh a day. This would mean you need ten times more solar panels since there is no way to get more daylight. Be careful to put in all the units in your formula and cancel them out to make sure you don't end up with a nonsense result. The title of the question would be answered as followed: 50W/000 * 4.23 sunhours/day = 0.63kWh/day or 9kWh per month or 228kWh a year. These are annual averages. If you wanted a specific month, you would need the sun hours for that month. Hope this helps.
- Q: Our school is in the process of being built, but they have no plans to include any environmental benefits. I was wondering how to get a grant for solar panels (at least) or who I can talk to in order to get a grant.
- Excessively long payback schemes for solar panels are being quoted. It depends on where you live, where you situate your solar panels, what you buy and if you get a grant or install them yourself. Much of the cost of Solar panels is in the installation. Any competent DIY person can install a simple solar panel system. Ours cost less than ?000 to buy and self install. What are you calling payback time? Because each time I don't use fossil fuels and use solar energy instead, I don't get a 'fossil fuel' bill. Whilst we still use some electricity for running a fridge, lighting etc we have no other fuel bills, no gas, no oil, no electric heating no electrically heated hot water. We have woodburning stoves (which run on free wood) and solar. Remember you are not just paying for the electricity/gas/oil etc that you use, you are also paying standing charges, VAT etc. Include those in your 'payback time figures' and you will see a very different picture. How long would it take you to pay back ?,000 if you only had one tiny electric bill each quarter?
- Q: lately i have been interested in solar power. i own my own home and in Texas it's HOT, so my A/C is always on and that light bill is like $300.00 a month. i was looking at other light companies but then i remembered that there are the so called solar power but i dont knowknow to start or how it would work to power the a/c machine...pls help
- I live near a community in Mexico where hey have no power. It is in the desert and is perfect for solar because they only have 3-4 in. rain a year. It is on the beach so many wealthy have homes there that are on solar systems. I have helped my friends set up and work on many of them. Solar systems WILL NOT normally support air conditioning unless you install a gas powered ammonia or lithium Bromide system. In these systems the refrigeration cycle heat is supplied by the gas instead of a compressor, so the only electrical power is a small circulation pump which will not drain batteries fast. These are a problem in some areas because not many people know how to maintain and repair this type of system. Some of my friends claim they can run a very small one room AC on their solar systems just to at least have a place to sleep that is cool. Others say it is questionable. Please understand these systems are not cheap. Most of them paid $20,000 - $35,000 and even more if you use the ammonia cycle AC. The systems usually have 0-2 panels, a 0-5 KW gas generator, and large bank of large batteries like ones you use in a golf cart or bigger. I also must apologize to all the environmentalists for the inconvenient truth.
- Q: Why should I have a Generator if I have Solar Panels.....?
- There is now a completely portable (and ultra-high efficient) solar power generator which produces up to 800 watts of household electricity on demand when you need it most. News of this solar backup generator (it's the first off-the-grid breakthrough in 50 years) is spreading like wildfire all across the country!
- Q: Can solar panels be installed on a high-rise building?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on a high-rise building. In fact, high-rise buildings are ideal candidates for solar panel installations due to their large surface areas and access to sunlight. However, certain factors such as structural considerations, building ownership, and local regulations need to be taken into account before installation.
- Q: i wanted to buy solar panels but this guy told me one will just power one light bulb what i want to know is how much thay cost and is it true tat if more power leaves your house than goes in the power company has to send u a cheek
- If you want to get money from the power company you will have to basically put in $0k to $20k worth of solar panels. Currently most solar panels that are available to home owners are not all that efficient. I currently have 3 that are 2 foot x 0 foot on my roof that follow the sun and they only power my water heater. Also some states will give you a tax rebate for installing solar power banks on your roof, mainly in the southwest.
