Q:Can plastic sheets be used for marine applications?
Yes, plastic sheets can be used for marine applications. They are often used for boat windows, hatches, and other applications where durability and resistance to water and UV rays are required. Plastic sheets such as acrylic, polycarbonate, and PVC are commonly used for marine purposes due to their strength, weatherability, and ability to withstand harsh marine environments.
Q:I am trying to imitate corrugated plastic (the translucent quality) but in a larger scale. Is there something you recommend I use? thanks!
I have sprayed glass with a very light coat of cheap white spray paint, and it gives it the frosted look. I bet the same would apply to acrylic.
Q:Are plastic sheets resistant to staining from food or beverages?
Yes, plastic sheets are generally resistant to staining from food or beverages. Their smooth and non-porous surface makes it difficult for stains to penetrate and adhere to the material. However, some highly pigmented or acidic substances may still cause slight discoloration over time if left in prolonged contact with the plastic.
Q:What are the weight limitations of plastic sheets?
The weight limitations of plastic sheets can vary depending on the type and thickness of the plastic. Generally, plastic sheets can support lighter loads, such as a few pounds, but may not be suitable for heavy objects or significant weight-bearing applications. It is important to consider the specific properties and specifications of the plastic sheet to determine its weight limitations accurately.
Q:I think the cheese slices that are not placed in these individual plastic sheets tastes better. Why do they do this?
Because they can charge more for the individually wrapped slices.
Q:Can plastic sheets be easily cut?
Yes, plastic sheets can be easily cut using a variety of tools such as scissors, utility knives, or even a laser cutter.
Q:I have a dinning room table that expands to 102 inches when the leaves are added. That length also means I have to spend a lot of money on a single table cloth! I think they call that banquet size. With fine linens, like everything else, costing so much these days, I really don't want Uncle Jim's red wine or Aunt Sara's coffee to totally ruin the table cloth if they spill. Not to mention, spills always seem to happen outside of a place mat.So is it really that uncool to put a non-shiny thin plastic...... something-or-other over the table cloth?
Why don't you just take the fine linen off the table, and buy a more inexpensive fabric at a shop, hem it, and use that. We have party cloths lol. So when someone drops some sauce, or drips that red wine, NO PROB!
Q:Recently I have been working on a beer pong table. What I really want is the cups to not topple over when they get hit by the ping pong ball. So I have seen an idea where you can cut circular cup holes into a piece of plexiglass or glass like sheet and slide the cups into them to prevent them from falling over.My question to you is where would I find plexiglass or a glass like sheet?
if u are using it to house any thing that needs allot of water remember to get the right thickness and if u want to build a huge tank. That can become very costly i looked into buying bulk glass and building my own and it turned out it is cheaper to buy an already made tank i saved 100 buying from a store and i got a 60 gallon and planed on building a 50 gallon but maybe u have your reasons so any place that sells glass will do i would recommend trying to go to a ware house tho not a stupid store that will rip u off. i cant give u any names because each city will probably be different glass people like when i wanted to get my glass fore my tank i went to van island windows they where the cheapest but they are only located on Vancouver island (Victoria)
Q:I am making paintings (fine art) that can be painted and lifted like large decals. I have used 6 mil shipping plastic, This works great, but is hell to format and non-permanent. I need to identify and locate a more stable substitute. (Clear plastic sheeting; large solid sheets that watersoluble paint will peel off of.)I would think the same thing tupperware is made of (polypropylene), but cannot find it in flat clear sheets. Does anyone know what the clear painters pallettes are made of (melamine?) and if it is sold in sheets to the public? I have been trying to put a finger on this for over 2 years--any help or leads out there?thanx
Poly carbon Lexan would work well. My husband was the plant manager for a place that made clear bottom kayaks and that it what they used. It comes in different thicknesses and is bulletproof. One of my hubby's fav tests for the buyer was to take a 12 lb sledgehammer and beat on the kayak to show how strong it was. It is also very lightweight. The whole kayak only weighed 38 lbs. I did the graphics on them and the acrylic should peel off nicely. If you would like more info go to my profile and e-mail me. Good luck!
Q:1. True 2. False
False - it is easier to generate fog using dry ice then to harvest it and spend inordinate amounts of electricity trying to store it.
